Hello everyone! Back from the mobile signal and battery charge desert that is camping in Cornwall. We had a gig to go to that came with free access to the Eden Project - ignore those mean online reviews, it's a wonderful place, and normally you're absolutely fine taking a picnic too, so no need to spend once you're in. The normal pass is dear, but it's an annual pass. I know I spent money on the gig, but the access was a nice surprise.
Hope everyone had a good solstice. My early morning was reserved for today as I'm on the early bus off to hospital to get a liver scan. Been a bit worried, but I'm probably fine. Just fat... A month off booze has done zip for my weight, but I have noticed less dry elbows. Flipping hypothyroidism!
So even though it has been a few days, I only clocked another NSD so I'm on 8 now.
Holiday was in budget apart from the last day as OH ran out of his budget on the way home from scattering his dad at sea. We had to drive to a particular place and that added a few hours to the journey he hadn't accounted for (and we drove by St Nectan's where we also stopped because that's his happy place)so we needed to eat, and more fuel so I covered those on cc. I still have a fair bit of grocery, emergency and discretionary budget left which might pay that off, but we have been asked to make a few trips for the freelancing work in August and I just put all that on cc as well to be paid straight away on month end. Hope it pays off. The last lot didn't...
Right, got a freebie book to read now for review. Have a great day!Keep reading books!

Good Morning ⛅
I just logged in after a few days absence to read a post by Grandmanerd... 'What a wise soul' I thought. That was just what I needed to read - he/she sounds just like Mothernerd... hmmm... both end in 'nerd'... what's going on here. Lol. She has regenerated! Anyhow - caught up with myself on here. Lovely to reconnect x
Had a crazy few days - appointments here there and everywhere, family visits, my head has been diving deep into stuff, and my emotions a little (!) up and down. That said - I have been doing a gratitude practice on paper if not on here, and continuing my good routines. Feeling heaps better in myself - my only anxieties surface when I have to go to work - am putting out there for the right job to find its way to me.
Sorry I missed your birthday 🎂 f0xh0les - belated happy wishes 🌟
Today I am grateful for:
1) My counsellor and the insights I am gaining
2) For the space and silence I am making in my life to be present
3) For the death of the old and the birth of something new
Up to NSD number 6 as of yesterday.
Have a lovely day folks x

Grandmanerd - I love all your little daily sayings. Particularly like the Tetris one this morning.
Hope everyone who is a bit poorly or feeling a bit down is feeling better today.
So yesterday was NSD No 10. I was beginning to think that I'd never reach double figures this month, And I've lost another pound and a quarter this week. You can see how desperate I am when I'm counting quarter pounds. Still, it's all encouraging and motivating.
Still pretty uneventful around our way, Got lots of things I could be doing so better get on with them.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.7 -
I have decided to stop fretting and start doing. So booked a ferry to Ireland on Saturday, and will come back Sunday night - being responsible for someone else's house is stressful. Will do all I can do, and come back with a feeling of serenity, plus get to pretend I am on a cruise again.
I will be away from my house for less than 30 hours.
10 and a half school days left until the long summer holidays.Today's plans are to find a 2023 diary (it is now necessary!), to clean the living room and hall before lunchtime, and to strip and remake 2 beds. Laundry will be done - with all this sunshine, it would be a shame not to.One duvet was washed yesterday and hung on the line, but I seem to suddenly have lots of extra duvets. My own fault for tidying out the airing cupboard.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

It has been a very full day, got another NSD though so #9
Went to hospital on the bus for my scan. I do have a fatty liver. So now waiting on a call from the docs about what exactly it means for me. I am already trying... I will just have to try harder. No more hot chocolates. No more treats from the van. I'm supposed to be going on a booze bus in August...
I made some hummus for sandwiches tomorrow, and I have 2 slices lightly seeded packed with lettuce and tomato. An apple, a few cherries...2 boiled eggs for breakfast. I may also take a marmite on toast. It was going to be jam on toast, but I think I'll save that for the weekend.
I popped into the garden and we had a very few raspberries, so they have been put straight into the wonky frozen fruit mix for future overnight oats.Keep reading books!

Sending hugs @wishus & hoping they can find something to help your liver.
Well done on the weightloss @Toni'sfriend .
Horrible weather, so put layers on again. Don't know where summer has gone, even needed the heater on in the car on my way to work! The morning went well, but had a big blip at & just after lunchtime, then got better again for the last hour. Had to stay behind to write it all up, so nearer 5pm when I got home. Picked DS3 up from the next village after tea, then fought with my sewing machine for a few hours. Eventually got it sorted & was able to hem the 2 pairs of jeans I'd shortened.
Grateful that I sorted my machine out (still got 5 sewing jobs to do), that I managed to stay calm during the tricky period at work & that I didn't get injured, DS1 coming with me to collect his brother as we had a nice chatUse it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!

Good Morning 🌞
I am trying to incorporate my visit here into my morning routine. I am up by 06:00 and don't leave the house until 07:45, and as am doing intermittent fasting, breakfast isn't a things other than a coffee or two. It feels a little bit backwards - as normally I write about what I have been grateful for that day - so first thing in the morning I may reflect on yesterday or just be glad for the simple things in life.
Today I am grateful for:
1) The peace and quiet I have in the morning to start my day off well
2) The summer sunshine - light mornings and evenings still
3) Being me. Haven't felt like that in a while... but today - I'm grateful for just being.
Today I send love and best wishes out to my little Mum in care - I think of her a lot, and wonder what she thinks... I hope she is at peace, and I miss her loads.
Yesterday = NSD number 7
Have a bright and positive day folks x
