Last day of the month and I've ended up with 14 NSDs. Lost 6 pounds over the month and kept up the skin care regime. I don't think anyone else will notice the weight loss or the improvement in my skin but I do so that's all that matters really.
I'm going for lunch with my cousin today. Haven't seen her in ages so we'll have a lot of catching up to do.
Thank you for running this month, Grandmanerd.
See you all in July.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.6 -
Thanks to everyone who's taken part this month and to those who read along and occasionally chip in. I've had a very strange month (in a very strange year), bookended by funerals, a little bit more certainty now about where I am and what I need to do.
I had an early start. Decided I needed food so went to buy some (quite a few bits missing and need some things to make the things I have into easy meals), then went to sit on the town hall square to eat my breakfast. I read 3 of the 3 panel exhibition displays that are set up - 5 more to go. All on the history of women's football, as is the mural that was started this week (on the gable end of a large building overlooking the car park. All in aid of the EUFA women's football (we're hosting some of the games). There are at least 3 days when the library will be closed due to hosting fan girl events - I've not got that right but it's something to do with the football and the followers and if I have time I might go to one or two of the drop in arts workshops.
Went back to the house, collected 3 large bags of cans from the house and the bin (bin was full and is not due to be emptied until next week so needed to make space for all the things lurking in their room) and took them across the to the recycling point. A bit too late for the food bank (wasn't sure I could walk that far actually - the Mon and Tues ones are much nearer so will gather stuff for those) but collected 2 carrier bags of books and took them to the cs and bought my new puzzle book on the way out. Came back via the town hall square (more shade) and decided to go in and get more books - several large print ones as well. Leg and foot really hurting so I am back on the bed, resting. Will do my mindfulness homework next and then see if I can gather up leaves or carry on clearing the garden. I have brought food upstairs so it isn't a problem if I can't get downstairs again - lots of filing and letter writing to do, so I won't get bored.
Grateful for turtles, that I'm still standing (although reclining atm) and good food (and having enough - will share what I have).7 -

Thank you for running June @mothernerd who is now @grandmanerd in an odd Picard/Locutus/Picard type transformation.
Only 4 months til the clocks go back!!!!! yay!
Today was weird. It actually makes my brain hurt if I think too much about it but it was bizarrely funny. So I am laughing. I am glad I am me, and not them. They really do have issues, but I am not certain they are aware they do. Nevermind, not likely to ever meet them again. It was just one of those 'did someone slip LSD into my tea again?' days, where everyone is too polite to mention it out loud, but there was a meeting of eyes. Too funny.Gratitudes: a misunderstanding ironed out, an easy supper, plenty of asparaguses.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Asparagi???Today I am grateful for a good day at work, for dc not having a rehearsal we were anticipating, for my exam role going well, for the funny neighbourhood cat who makes a kind of growling noise at you and then rolls over for a belly rub, for my clematis producing a 🌺.Thank you for June grandmanerd. It's been good to have the turtle base to lean up against when other things are all wobbly.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!5

Thanks for this month's thread @grandmanerd. Need to sign up to July now.
Ended June with 13 NSD, not as many as I'd have liked but hey ho! By getting fuel today, it's saved me making a special trip to the village another day.
Had a good last day of term, now the holidays are here! Whoop whoop! Did a seeing job after tea, then had a bath with my book. Made arrangements to meet a group of friends for a catch up Saturday next week 😃
Grateful for joining in a quiz with the class leaving to go to secondary school, the holidays are finally here, a lunch date with friends to look forward to
See you all in July!Use it up, wear it out

If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

Hello everyone! I've logged on a few times, lost posts, given up, got busy, got ill, and thought aaaagh.
But that's it - we finished June! I was all in budget apart from having to book some freelancing work accommodation for August.
That got paid off yesterday. I'm now ready for July and will head over there!Keep reading books!

Afternoon Turtles. Thank you for running June for us grandmanerd. Off on holiday tomorrow so will be reading along, but pretty sure there won’t be any NSD’s next week, but holiday spends are safely in my savings ready.
On the whole June went well, lost count of NSD’s but managed grandmanerds challenge of no new clothes or toiletries, just pinched stuff from DD as I ran out!
See you in July!5 -
