Happy holidays @f0xh0les!
Thanks @pollyanna_26. I'm in a regular school, the pupil has attachment issues stemming from a bad start in life. We have become very close over the years, I've shared with him about my husband's renal failure diagnosis last year, so that's why it hurts so much. I've been trying not to think about it, but it's always there at the back of my mind unfortunately.
Had a great day, woke at the regular time (thanks to the cat trying to get into our room, he woke me 5 times wanting in or out!). After breakfast, the mist was starting to lift, so armed with bottles of water & an apple each, me & DH walked 8 miles. I haven't done this route for a couple of years, so really enjoyed it. A bit of housework, then a customer came over with a BIG bag of alterations, so that's 2 lots in 2 days - I'm going to be very busy! Spent the afternoon listening to the radio & weeding around our two ponds, it looks so much better now 😃 washed the dishes, then crocheted & watched TV
Grateful for laughs over the fence with our neighbour, a lovely walk, time in the garden
Not grateful that I discovered our food budget is over this month! Luckily it's been under budget so far this year to make up for it!Use it up, wear it out

about the records: I don't want to divert you away from other stuff in life but there's an online database called discogs.uk that lists records, what sort of prices they've sold for (highest and lowest) and how many are up for sale now. A lot will depend on condition of sleeve and record or if it's an oddity, but it will give you some idea of whether something is rare or common before you start spending time checking condition or trying to rehome it.
Tomorrow I'll be back to working on mum's stuff. Will be seeing my brother at the funeral on Tuesday so want to get all the letters I need his signature on, written and printed out (get some money back in). He's in agreement over paying for gardening and cleaning. I would also like to get a couple of things done for me - bus pass application for one. Would be good to get food bank stuff together as well as it's just across the road.
Grateful for clearing floor space, going out of the house (bought some pretty coloured pens) and the beautiful veggie chilli I made - one generous portion left for today (thought it wasn't going to make it through yesterday at one point).5 -
Thanks @Toni'sfriend, I'm getting there! Sorry to hear about your difficult time at the funeral. Some people can be so unkind. Try not to dwell on how they treated you, but instead focus on the fact that you went to pay your respects to a special lady & she would be pleased that you did. Sending a big hugUse it up, wear it out

Different people have different needs to be healthy and happy (by chibird)
Rabbit - lots of exercise, lots of greens, no social media
Koala - meditation, creating art, daily routine
Puppy - lots of sleep, food for the soul, social sports
Cat - yoga, alone time, journaling
Bird - going outside, sun + water, happy content
Polar bear - to do lists, social time, therapy
Challenge Focus Eating from the cupboards, fridge and freezer
Well my recipe box didn't come, for which I am grateful (I did try to cancel it, but then got stuck in a bit about changing my preferences and that was the part they acknowledged) as it gives me more breathing space - fridge is rammed, freezer is full and there's stuff in boxes on the table for when I take something out of the fridge and the two new veg and salad boxes still to be accommodated. I probably need to get organised enough to do something with the veg I chopped 2 days ago, now that I've finished off the veg curry and chilli. I recently joined the reverse meal planning thread (basically looking what you have in, working out what you can make and what (if anything) you need to buy.
I made another batch of chunky coleslaw (cabbage, onions, carrot and a few bits of celery) and a layered baby gem lettuce, red onion, green pepper and tiny tomatoes salad, still have potato salad left. Some things I'd like to repeat - the chilli, easy stuff like roast veg, some old easy recipes like Mexican rice salad (can have one portion hot and leave the rest to cool) and one or two interesting things in the newly found recipe book -beetroot hummus - that might be for another day (I want to deal with the food not spend ages poring over each stage of a new recipe.
I'd noticed their 'soup' stock was getting low so refilled the shelf with soup, various tins of beans and fruit from the stock in my room.
I found my diabetic versions of gingerbread (cake) and oaty biscuits on a saved page from an old address book. However since food is one of the few things we have some control over (prices are rising, some shortages are reported/ obvious but not the eye-watering amounts of the great energy theft - the energy companies had record profits, the shareholders do not need more dividends from the pockets of the poor) I'd like you to start developing your food strategy for next month and ongoing. Sounds posh but all it means is thinking about a no shop week, stretching your 'big' shops out, having deliveries instead of physically visiting the shops to avoid temptation (I used to have certain aisles that I refused to go down). Are environmental concerns an issue? Are you struggling to feed your children, let alone yourself - remember that many people are.
Oh dear I've gone rather gloomy. Access to shops is important too - some have limited choices, for those with mobility issues the nearest SM can be the most difficult to get to. I generally love the 'old-style' threads but some people are a bit smug about supporting the local butcher and greengrocer but we've not had an independent butcher since the early eighties. I loved going getting half a sheep or pig - was once asked if I could use the trotter or should they leave it out. I said I wouldn't but I knew a man who would love it. When we still had a 'Lennon's' SM they did their own butchering and sold packs of 'bones' for about 19p a lb - I would spend a day cutting all the meat from the bones, making stock and then batch cooking as many meals as possible from the meat. Only if I was taking one of the children to the doctor's of course - the cost of shoe leather is important when replacing a pair is equal to a whole week's food budget.
I don't need to know your details (although we'd love to hear your success stories) - it's just food for thought.
Was making a correction and the backspace button stuck and I've deleted about 3 paragraphs.

Deep breath and deep breath and breathe out and very slowly back in. Trying to write grant, 15-30 % of getting it, so better than the lottery, but not a given. Apparently this stresses everybody else in the house out. Or the fact that I am stressed and not doing everything is stressing everybody else out.
Ds1 bumped his eye brow/split it/ so ds2 have taken him to a and e to get glued. Medium problem lots of big words. I am trying to calm myself down and now don't think I will have time for a walk or even better run today. Although maybe last thing. (Broken arm is a bit better and I am going nuts not getting any real exercise. )Patience everybody from Tuesday once this is shipped off \I will be able to actually start reading again. Good Afternoon ☁
Having a very flat unmotivated day today... but am mindfully capturing it and reflecting what happened yesterday that might have precipitated it. Alongside my daily habit tracker - I started a diary today for days like this so I can really try and get to the bottom of my triggers. Almost certainly it was poor sleep (late night as weekend - told self 'I can have a night off being in bed by 22:00') - was awake at 01:30... 04:30... and got up at 05:30... Could also be burned out as lots of people yesterday socially... also a few other factors. Will be interesting to see if I can pin it down over the next few months.
Today I am grateful for:
1) A day to myself to just be quiet and still.
2) Streaming services
3) Food in my fridge and cupboards
Today = NSD number 9
I'm not feeling especially overflowing with love and energy today haha - but I am sending loving kindness out there to all those people who don't even have the basics I take for granted... those going hungry, or homeless... those suffering physically and mentally with no support. Let everyone of those people find something today to be happy about that lifts their spirits up ⭐
Have a peaceful Sunday everyone x

Happy holidays to the teacher turtles!DS’s nursery days are done. On the last day I was handed a sheet of information on starting school and I was pleased to find out who his teacher is going to be. She was the P1 teacher when I was at the school! She didn’t teach me but she taught my cousins, and while DS has been at nursery she’s been the lead nursery teacher. I’m not quite sure why she is going from being the current nursery teacher to P1 teacher though? Maybe they need extra support in the school? Guess I’ll find out in August. On his last day, I chased down a Dad to give him my number to give to his wife. I’d been chatting to her about meeting up during the summer so that our children could play together but we forgot to switch numbers in the flurry of her 3 children and DS excitedly running about and making a lot of noise.…7 weeks of keeping DS entertained…It’ll be fine…*looks about for reassurance*Teachers, come baaack!…Sunday Sweeps going into holidays and mortgage OP.Food 12.90Transport 59.90Leisure 0Grateful today for doing a decent declutter and clean in the house, for OH agreeing to some stuff going, for the sound of OH and DS laughing as the carried on while I cleaned.NST 🐢 & MF before 40 🤸5
