Ditto Abundant.
DS is in his final few days of nursery.I rushed to Waterrocks book shop last night to get gift vouchers for his 2 keyworkers at nursery. It’s the first time I’ve done the gift giving to teachers and I think I made a bit of a boo boo. On Tuesday I handed in a fancy box of chocolates and a card thanking all the nursery teachers. When I dropped off DS yesterday morning his teacher wasn’t her smiley self and didn’t make eye contact with me. Spoke to OH about it last night and he said ‘if you had worked closely with someone for a year and they gave you a box of chocolates to share with your office, how would you feel?’ With that I pulled on my shoes and drove to the shops! Feel really bad now. 🫤Grateful for a quieter day at work, honesty, and for Mum coming for lunch.I’ve been a real spendy pants this month. I ordered 3 pairs of school shoes for DS to try on - they were all reduced by 50% and I also earned cash back. I also bought a couple of top trumps card games for DS - he loves playing them and they’re educational… that’s my excuse. I also bought a poster for his bedroom. It’s called ‘Another way to say’ and has some basic words like good, bad, big, small, etc and then lists 10 alternatives to them.I need to get back into a tidying / cleaning routine around the house. I’ve let that go the last few months. I find myself doing bits here and there. Going to try a timer method starting from today - 25 minutes focussing on one room.I’ve requested annual leave for July to go to the caravan for a couple of weeks with DS and OH. After the last few extra busy weeks at work, I really need a break. I want to go to the caravan, walk in the forests and along the beaches, eat, read, and play card games!NST 🐢 & MF before 40 🤸5 -

Abundant - What a really lovely post. I hope you continue to have a positive day and that your wee Mum is well and happy.
Idee - Personally, I think a nice box of chocolates and a thank you card for the teachers to share is perfectly adequate. Maybe I'm wrong but I'm sure most people would be more than happy with that.
Yesterday was NSD No 11. I tidied up my containers and planted up some pots of Bizzy Lizzies with the help (?) of the three year old next door. At least she now knows all the names and colours of the plants and her Mother managed to sit outside and get her breakfast in peace for once. I found a camping stove and cannisters of gas that I bought ages ago for the Boy which he never used. I gave it to the neighbour's brother who was delighted and that's an unexpected bit of decluttering.
The bad news is that my oven has packed in. Himself asked if I was sure it wasn't working. Well, yes. It's cold. "Well, is it under guarantee then?" No, we've had it for more than 10 years. "Do we really have to buy a new one?" Yes, unless you want to eat cold food. I despair of him sometimes. At least we have the money to replace it. There was a time when it would have been a major catastrophe. The meal plan will have to be revised, though.
So, I'd better get on. Have a good day.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.9 -

Evening Turtles. No NSD today as had to go shopping, wasn’t going to but DS2 is going through a ‘hollow legs’ period atm and the cupboards are bare. Only spent £50 for the week though so could have been worse!
abundant I also do intermittent fasting, it didn’t take that long for me not to get hungry before lunch and it has got me out of my (very) lengthy weight loss plateau.
Well done on the weight loss Tonisfriend, when you have a fair bit to lose it does seem quite daunting, but there are so many little wins on the way. My acid reflux disappeared and my joints stopped aching quite early on. I wrote a list of why I wanted to lose weight and I have achieved all of those things now, so don’t give up!
Today I am grateful for seeing lots of bees in my little wild flower meadow (a 10 foot square in the corner of my garden!) managing not to shriek when my lovely little 99 yo customer patted me right on my patch of shingles earlier and OH agreeing to come shopping with me so he could carry it.

Today I found some fab bargains in The Wading Bird shop, something I bought earlier today for £2.75 was 89p in there. So now I have a full freezer, and it can all be used with salads, so hopefully, unless DH goes on a complete sabotage-fest, we should not need to spend much (only milk and bread) for the rest of the month, and half of July (with more salad).

We finally had a scorching hot day 😃 I was asked to help in the nursery this morning, so got to spend time outdoors. Lots of fun with the little people. Had a very large blip with my pupil this afternoon, but I wasn't backing down in order for him to get his own way, especially when he said "I hope your husband dies!" 🤬🤬🤬
Helped decorate the gym hall after work, ready for the primary 7 leavers assembly tomorrow. Still annoyed by my afternoon when I got home, so I got changed & cut all the grass. Took quite a while, but the garden looks so much better now 😃 DH had also been working outside today, & had heightened a fence & attached windbreak netting, so the roses will be more protected now.
Decided to have a night off from sewing & did s bit of crochet after tea. Had a lovely long bath with my book & pampered myself too.
Grateful for fun with little people, that it is nearly the holidays so I will have weeks & weeks free from a particular pupil & spending time in my gardenUse it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃
