Thanks for all your good wishes re DH. I've been reading some information on living donors this afternoon & thinking about being tested. Have spoken to DS2 about the possibility, but still need to speak to DS1&3.
Was woken at 1am by DS1 asking me to pick him up from working at a Prom. He'd had a brilliant time, only needed to work until 9pm, then could join in with the party. They were all in DS2's class at school, but DS left school early so didn't get to go. DS1 works with quite a few of them too, so he had lots of fun. He had a tricky time some years back & didn't reach 6th year either, so it was good he got to go to a Prom eventually!
Lots of wind & showers here today. Went for a walk with hubby, then pinned a customer into her dress. A woman that was a couple of years younger than me at school, (when I first moved to the island, she was one of the girls who came & invited me to play on my first day. Also when I moved onto our mainland island, she was the only person I knew) called by to buy a book off me. Haven't chatted for years, but was good to catch up for 10 mins. When she got home, she emailed me some ebooks by an author I like, so that was a lovely surprise.
Spent the afternoon replacing a zip in a skirt & putting darts into a dress altering the sleeve width. Filled in DS2's bursary form. Have just had a bath & pampered myself. Decided the other day to do more pampering, have lots of toiletries to use up, so shouldn't need to buy anything!
Grateful for DS1 having a good time, a nice chat with ex schoolfriend, a brilliant book - I'm hooked already & only started it last night 😃Use it up, wear it out

That's great news about your OH, Thrifty. I hope they identify a donor soon.
Well, my last couple of days have been really uneventful. No NSDs as I did the food shop (not very much really) and bought a couple of trays of plants to replace the pansies which are starting to fade. Things really are creeping up in price and I noticed there was virtually nothing in the food donation box in our local Aldi. I know it hadn't just been emptied because the little that was in it had been there the day before when I put something in it. Normally it has a decent amount of donations.
Will the train strike be affecting any of you?
I am just so grateful that I have reasonably good health and can walk anywhere I want to go and that I don't have to rely on food banks.
So today's plans. I don't really know but I suspect it involves a bit of housework.
Have a good day.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.9 -

What to do when things don't go your way
1 Take a step back and evaluate
2 Vent if you have to, but don't linger on the problem
3 Realise there are others out there facing this too
4 Process your emotions (Journal, audio tape, meditate, talk to someone)
5 Acknowledge your thoughts (recognise their presence)
6 Give yourself a break (go for a walk, listen to music, watch a movie, get some sleep)
7 Uncover what you're really upset about (clue- it's not the world)
8 See this as an obstacle to overcome
9 Analyse the situation - Focus on actionable steps
10 Identify how it occurred - so it won't occur again next time
11 Realise the situation could be a lot worse
12 Do your best but don't kill yourself over it
13 Pick out the learning points from the encounter (there's always something to learn from everything)

Some good news. At my appointment with the practice nurse (diabetic review) my results had improved a bit from last time but are still higher than prior to that. However we are going to try increasing my daily dose of my current medication, so I will take it 3 times a day. Best of all I have lost weight, about a stone in 3 months - think it might be more but need to find the notebook it's written down in. So carry on, keep trying my best and more blood tests in 3 months.
I've also managed to access some more accounts so have been able to do an online SM order for delivery for the first time in months. It may not sound like much but even though I have a lot of tinned and dry goods in, going to buy the other items I need has really been taking it out of me. I have also been able to fill in my MH questionnaire ahead of Wednesday's appointment (and will be able to get my video link for the actual appointment.
Got off at a later stop on my way back from the infirmary as I wanted to check in with an estate agent - well that one's off the list as they had a high step and 2 half doors but only one open. Not good for me and the walker. Renewed my library books online and checked bin collections. Currently on hold with the PIP people, sent the form off on Friday but the latest deadline is today so need to ask for an extension until it gets there. Writing this one handed and jotting down things on my list as they occur to me. Was able to help a woman with parking fees at the infirmary - found my little bag of taxi money in a corner of my handbag - she needed coins for the machine and only had a fiver.7 -
Huh, that's an other big one done - ds1's quarterly hospital check up. Doc was proud of him, so cheered ds1 up and some tweaks of medication so should minimise side effects in the long run. DS 2 kindly drove us to hospital in next town and I fuelled up car a bit and bought us lunch. And went shopping. Never doing democratic shopping again, I kind of like online shopping now.
Am slightly loosing track of long term goals - but they are int here. Bought tickets to go away on holiday - will get tickets to come back when I get paid! As will now have NSD days until I do get paid!Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%

Toni'sfriend, I'm affected by the train shenanigans. I have to be in Manchester sat + sun, and was always going to travel up Friday afternoon, as it's a 10 am start and I'd have to be out of the house by 5 just to get there. Fri is not a strike day. But there were no direct train tickets. So I bought one changing at Doncaster and getting the trans Pennine Express. Result. Or so I thought. Then 2 days ago, my TPE out got cancelled. I just panicked. Long story short, I'm now going via Leeds and it took about 2 hours and a lot of help and tandem internet searching from big sis to sort the tickets 🤪I'm currently hoping that I can actually get there on Fri. I'm leaving at 11 am...Today I am grateful for being allowed the day off to be with dc and for dc benefitting from a day at home, for finishing my marking (whoop whoop!!!), for finally posting my sister's bday present off (2 weeks late), for being given 2 free tomato plants.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!7

Evening Turtles. Well done on the weight loss grandmanerd that’s brilliant! OH has been affected in reverse by the trains, he is having to wfh all week and is very cheerful about the whole thing as he doesn’t have to go in to the office.
Small spend on tea and ice cream on Saturday whilst out on a walk and 2 NSD’s yesterday and today. Helped DS2 to phone HMRC to claim his tax back when his employer used the wrong code number, purely for selfish reasons so he can continue to pay me rent while he looks for another job. Actually it was quite nice not having to get up early and hammer on his door every 5 minutes ,leave 10 minutes before he was due to start and wind my way through the school run for 4 local schools only just making it with seconds to spare.
Today I am grateful for a lovely walk by the sea, noticing that my tomato plants have tomatoes on them and DS1 messaging me from Canada.8 -

Woke feeling really tired. Work went fine, had a nap when I got home. Shortened the sleeves of a blazer then did the ironing. Off to bed shortly.
Grateful for an easy afternoon, (after watching DIY SOS tonight) that there are kind & helpful people in the world, & my family - we might not have a lot but we do OKUse it up, wear it out
