Today is NSD5Stupid car tax letter came yesterday, so had to pay that (£165 on the c/c) just in case I forgot at the end of the month.Cleaned bits of the kitchen, made lunch, made a pizza dough for tonight, made 8 lemon tarts in G00 ramekins that seemed to breed when I spent 3 weeks in Ireland.. wonder what DH was up to? So made some homemade ones with 36p digestives and a pack of Mr Green$ lemon meringue pie filling and some juice and rind of a fruitbowl lemon that was destined to be adopted and given a name before anyone got round to doing something with it. Then opened the fridge door and found his half-of-a-brother lemon. So will whip some cream while the pizzas are cooking and they can have poshish desserts for pennies. Also found a powder pack for carmelle, so made one of those with some almond milk that has been hanging around open for a while. It will do for their after school snack tomorrow. - they don't need to know it is fat free, gluten free, and healthier than a round of toast. So all in all I think I have a plan for the next 48 hours...4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Evening turtles
Been beautiful here in the NW; met a friend for a long walk and then we drove to a reservoir for a picnic. Walked 15k steps and had a lovely chat and catch up.
Used c00p vouchers to buy cat food and bread (which has gone up again in price !), made tea and lunch for work tomorrow. Off to bed very soon, tired out after all the fresh air and exercise

f0xh0les - you think the food will last 48 hours...but your nighttime muncher will have other ideas...!Today I am grateful for being able to stay home all day and potter on, for a phone call with my friend in Spain, for prepping food for the next 2 days (it's only for me, so I know it will not be munched by anyone else), for getting some sewing done (fair is next sat, eek), for finally mowing the lawn (No Mow May had a 12 day extension here, and was contemplating joining up with Knee High July...).NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!4

Not much to report...
Today I am grateful for:
1) A lazy day
2) For video calls with friends
3) For learning more about my diet and what work/doesn't work for my body
Today was a spend day

Good evening Turtles!
Nsd6 here, and what a productive weekend I have had!
Saturday morning, I got a load of my freelance work done, did a pharmacy run, then got ready for my friend's party. I made her a card using Canva (running low on card and envelopes now, so must pay a visit to The Works soon.) I found a nice box for the necklace I made her -and she loved it! Had an awesome time, danced to some TUNES and despite taking taxis, stayed in budget. Even though it was a late night, I think not drinking really helps with not spending too much. Tipsy me may have wanted chips on the way home. Sober me just made toast.
Today I have been tackling the back garden jungle. I planted some geraniums and pansies, and rescued a toad from the cat.
I also went round to my friend's house to help him with the production of a batch of rhubarb and ginger jam, earning myself a couple of jars for my efforts. Fab day!Keep reading books!
August grocery challenge budget £150, spent so far £45.95, remaining £104.05.7 -
Ended up feeling utterly defeated on Saturday night. I had worked very slowly, no choice when your body sends you back to sitting on the bed after 2-5 minutes effort but there was still lots to do - not helped by the look of disgust on DS2's face because the space for the boxed records was not clear - he did take the first set of drawers straight upstairs (onto the landing, not my room). Ds3 came to take the boxes of vinyl off him, then got shouted at for putting one box on his side and disappeared back upstairs.
Yesterday was much better. DS2 and mummy to be turned up unexpectedly with the bureau and second set of drawers (DS2 had messaged me but the laptop wasn't on). I asked him to move one set of drawers in my room, he looked and gave me a 10 minute lecture on what I had to do - spray anti mould, clean, get the stuff off the floor (newly visible as I'd moved the bed as far as possible to see if I could move the drawers around them - no) and said they would be coming back later and could do it then. By this time I was hoping it was his friend who came back later - I'd asked to link him coming out of the crematorium and he was helpful and encouraging.
So I plodded on, bagging stuff, putting it in the bath (and on nearly every flat surface in the bathroom). Mid afternoon I told DS3 I needed his help. He moved the oldest scruffiest drawers into position (they may get damp/ mouldy but I'm prepared to lose them) but struggled with the second (these are the ones I already have in there) and sent me back downstairs to rest so that he could get out of the room (he was at the clambering over the bed stage). Went back when rested and we both swept, dumped the remaining stuff into bags and boxes - I'd been boxing and bagging in categories up to that point, it was just the last few things on the bed.
DS3 did the wrangling, I did the 'holding', mattress flipped, both halves of the base flipped, drawers moved, bed back in original position (DS3 had suggested an alternative arrangement which helped with moving around but once we'd worked past that problem, no need), turned the mattress over (all with lots of sweeping in between). Then asked if he could move the new drawers off the landing. He made me move a few more things before he did. I put a sheet on the bed and lay down. Moved the most needed bags through. Tried to phone DS2 - it was past my bedtime. He was on the motorway so difficult to hear but I was allowed to go to bed (he will bring other stuff today or tomorrow - think it's only a little table and things like masks)
Tired but happy. Grateful for the candle I was given for my birthday (not lit but didn't put it away in the drawer and I have slept with this delicious smell), finishing my book, starting a new one (DS3 noted the title 'how to Kill Your Family'), feeling calm.
I have a much deferred meeting with my link worker at 11am and will have a taxi -will decide how I come back according to how I feel. So slowly getting ready for that and then will do what I can when I get back. Cursor seems to be behaving better, so will do a catch up, it it continues. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage10 -
Great that you had lots of help from DS @mothernerd.
Had a busy day yesterday, went for a walk with DH. It was a route we'd done before, but added a new extra bit on, which was nice. Decided that for our belated anniversary present, we would buy 2 deckchairs. Then at least we might sit in the garden occasionally instead of only working in it!
Shortened a sequinned prom dress, so the little blighters were everywhere! It was picked up in the afternoon& 5 mins later another customer dropped a bag of alterations off!
Spent 1.5hrs in the garden. Moved some plants around & did a bit of weeding. Planted my new white honeysuckle next to the path & the trellis DH made last week.
Ironing after tea, then had a soak in the bath & finished my book. Totally shattered after being out in the wind so much.
Grateful for plants being in their places, a compliment on the garden from a customer, great books
Had a message from a customer this morning, expecting me to drop everything to do alterations before next Monday. Told her I've got a lot of sewing jobs on this week & DH is away a couple of days to hospital, so I couldn't help her this time. Felt quite proud of myself for saying no! Not my fault she's left things to the last minute!! I pushed myself with all the sewing last week, I need some time to relax, especially if I have to do DH's stuff as well as my own on ThursdayUse it up, wear it out

Wow everybody is getting so much done, in their pace. I still feel floored. Don't know how to book my summer holiday. Might happen tomorrow. Weeks later! In the meantime I am getting everything fixed; new windows (landlord), washing machine repair (subscription), new smart meter(gas company), my elbow (time), hopefully.
14 days till deadline of big creative grant. Have till 11 this morning to get the paperwork set up. 1/14
I will be taking the bus to work today, first time in a long time, a bit too far to walk (2 hour walk).
I am also floored by memorial yesterday for young man who was sad and slipped the loving network he was living in. It was a faith based celebration of life and it was all beautiful, but as much as I admire the parents for their stoic attendance, I would be furious and probably loose my language for a long time. But it was beautiful and I am glad I went to support the families and the networks. At the end I got overwhelmed by my own grief of ds1 who has lost a year of his life, and some elements of his future, and is still incredibly lonely, but I managed to mostly take that home, to share my sadness with you guys, as on a day to day basis all is going forwards and he has started his work and is continuing to slowly improve day to day.
Well that was my rant, I'm off to work this afternoon but I feel utterly broke and I need to find an other pattern of income, as I am just so broke every summer, due to part time work. I feel it is time for a bigger change soon, I will need to work out what that change is :-)
