NSD#5
Sorry for your loss @Toni'sfriend.
After yet another late night I awoke tired, so didn't do exercise routine, BUT I did go outside & do 100 skips (50 forwards, 50 back). It was sports day at school today, a bit overcast in the morning, but the sun came out in the afternoon. I was only able to stay for 3/4 of the morning session, as my pupil returned from an outing & didn't want to participate nor watch everyone else. The story of my life with said pupil. I was disappointed to miss out on the staff race 😓
Unpicked 2 zips after tea, one prom dress was collected (& paid for with a tip 😃)& another one dropped off for shortening. Had a bath & nodded off for a short while. Off to bed now!
Grateful for seeing some of sports day, chatting with a couple of people from my youth when living on a smaller island, surprise tip moneyUse it up, wear it out

I went out shopping for filing stuff (it started raining before I could get the clothes on the line). Did quite well in the £ emporium but limited choice of colours, couple of A4 files, couple of books of plastic pockets (can keep all the dealt with items in one place) and a few more bits (cheapo stapler and hole puncher), then on to several other shops. Have ended up with quite a lot (went with record cards for starting on the vinyl)but resisted all manner of pretty boxes and desk accessories (so I just bought 'needs' not 'wants' or 'Oh that is so gorgeous'.
Got very tired and hungry so stopped for a drink and a bite to eat (I'll go on the chaise longue), think I genuinely needed it but not going to say it was medical - I'd been out of the house for a lot longer than I intended. Did buy my puzzle mag - not sure it's supposed to be out yet but perhaps it's losing weeks trying to sort train times, station accessibility etc. It's every 4 weeks so it does come a little bit earlier in the month every time.
Frequent sit downs to get me home and the background rain got heavier so went into the town hall (now the museum/ archive base) - very interesting. Back home, had a drink, very tired and my feet are sore. Sat beside the box of records that came back in the car with me -it had 2/3 of the back seat and my two bags of life sat in the space at the top not occupied by records. So box number one has 120 long playing records. Some of those are box sets and a couple were covers without a disc inside (may turn up later) plus 11 singles/ EPs including some in Welsh.
Spent some time doing tidy up tasks - took stuff out of the dishwasher started putting stuff in. had to drag a chair up to put the second half of the cutlery in, then moved the chair to the side to get at the plates that had been deposited on the worktop. Emptied 3 bags containing a mixture of pots, recycling for rinsing and 'food waste' for the green bin (apple cores, peel, the rocket that went yellow - it's all done four days in a bag and I got 4 meals out of it plus some snacks so it's just the last squidgey bits, + dead sweet peas and bits that were hidden under other things).
I've done at least 3 trips to to the brown and green bins, 2 to the blue and black. I opened the windows in the front room first thing so that smells a bit sweeter. On one trip I moved the green bin and used a bag for life over my hand to pull up 3 nettles and one other large weed but went dizzy because of bending down so held onto the bins for a few minutes before making my way (still slightly tottery) back up the path to the house. I think i went back to finish the job but at one point I put some washed jars/ containers on the washing machine worktop because I got as far as the back door and still didn't feel confident about another trip to the bins.
Swept round and binned the bits from all the edges of the kitchen, again stopping to rest when I went dizzy or breathless. Did my online UC appointment. My entry about probate is still with the decision maker - I have a work assessment interview next Wednesday. Think tomorrow will be a matter of slow plodding and just working through as much as possible - I can put one of my bookshelves in the space behind the bathroom door (it opens outwards) and I asked DS3 to get the spare shelf supports I'd seen in one of the kitchen cupboards (bookshelf was missing one or two and my hands shook when I was dealing with it so it's not properly supported.
Back upstairs now with the bag I packed to take downstairs earlier + a few bits. Grateful for finding reasonably priced stationery and resisting nice things, for easy food and a new veg box, for mking a very small start on the vinyl. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage7 -

When I loved myself enough, I began leaving whatever wasn't healthy. This meant people, jobs, my own beliefsand habits - anything that kept me 'small'.
My 'judgement' called it disloyalty. Now I see it as self-loving.

Went through the small park to visit the Boy. Lots of lovely flowers and greenery including my favourite Irises. Gave his flat a bit of a clean and tidy and discussed the new tablet for Himself's birthday in July. Also getting a new battery for the Boy's old Iphone which will be easier for Himself to use than the one he has now.
Washing all done and dried on the line before the rain started.
Just getting ready to go for a short walk to the shops.
Hope you all have a good day.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.8 -
Lots of me hurts but the optician phoned to say my new glasses had arrived so I went to get those, came back, put a fish and some wedges in the oven, sat in the front room sorting. They had food arrive so I said I needed everyone to help sort, whittle stuff down and make space. have asked about all the ancient consoles, apparently one member of the household thinks they are her heritage (will see). I could barely move so gave them each a task to do (emptying the DW so I can reload and bringing the books from the bottom shelf up so I can fill a second bag for the cs. DS3 said they were tired and going to bed after they'd eaten and that he'd already stopped listening to me (then told me off for repeating something for the third time - I said I didn't know at what point he'd stopped listening
Then I was told to go to bed and sit and read a book quietly. Washing is on the line with another pile outside when they arre done. Another load in the machine but it's not quite full. Have moved all the books off a book case (I measured it first) and I am ready to move it to where I want it (will take library and cs books first). Then I'll do the next bit. Muscles hurting especially my bum - keep doing a little sweep round. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage7 -
Good Afternoon ⛅
Has been nice reading about everyone's lives on here - helps me get out of my own way - and see we all have ups and downs.
Really loved the quote you posted Mothernerd:
"When I loved myself enough, I began leaving whatever wasn't healthy. This meant people, jobs, my own beliefs and habits - anything that kept me 'small'. My 'judgement' called it disloyalty. Now I see it as self-loving".

Happy Friday everyone!
Scored 2 more NSDs (including today) so I am on day 5! Wednesday was a bit spendy though as 1) I got back to work only to discover there was a cake sale for the Jubilee, so contributed £2. The vanilla sponge I had though was beautiful, with loads of frosting. I have a feeling my liver will complain later... 2) I used some of my free cinema tickets to see Men, but I ended up getting a taxi to make it home on time due to cancelled trains. Nor did OH get dinner on in time, so we had pizza. 3 days later, I'm still eating the pizza. At least we get a bargain when we go.
I don't know if you like horror, but Men isn't full of jump scares, like some. It's quite creepy - psychological, weird folk-horror. Rory Kinnear and Jessie Buckley are excellent in it, and it's beautifully shot.
Another day in the office yesterday, and we still had loads of cake left, so that went for free.
I have set myself some goals on Google Calendar to fit in a walk and some writing time in my week. I don't much like the format and it doesn't seem very flexible, but I do feel it is helping. This morning I went out early with my neighbour whose dog I walked in Lockdown when he was injured. We met up with all the other dogwalkers and went to the nature reserve, avoiding the lower field where cows have been put to graze. Some of the doggies splashed in the river. We detoured through the back of the football pitches where the wildflowers were so gorgeous, we had to stop and take photos, and vowed to come back later for the seeds. There was a deep blue Love-in-the-Mist, an abundance of sweet-scented pineapple weed (which you can eat and tastes like pineapple!), delicate purple poppies, and very tall double-petalled scarlet poppies.
My reading goal is now at 16/35 books. I also have quite a few on the go!
Hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine!

Today was NSD 4 because I sat on my butt all day waiting for the postie who never came. There is something coming that needs to be signed for, but no postie people happened today (they usually park their van outside my house so I see them coming). Cleaned a bit of the living room and kitchen. Menus planned for the weekend. Nothing else to report.DH is away until Sunday so I am doing some light tidying this weekend, some deep cleaning in the bathrooms, and kidnapping any of DH's clothes in the laundry pile with holes in and making a ragbag for the c/s.Also laundry will be wrangled, and hung on the line, until it is dead driedI know I will get more done if I do not disappear into a book. But I do not care. I have in-book-plans!4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Evening Turtles. All negative here now except for DS2 who I am sure is making a line by sheer willpower to avoid going back to work. On the other hand DD finally had to give in and ruin her 100% attendance record by going sick for 2 days.
I thought I was ok but almost fainted whilst bending down to shave my legs in the shower this morning, so they will have to stay hairy for another day or 2. I dread to think how Ill we would all be had we not all had 3 vaccinations.
Luckily OH is feeling better and has laid a new bathroom floor, it looks really nice although it is only temporary until I have a new bathroom (2 rooms need knocking into 1 and a porch with downstairs toilet needs building first)
NSD apart from decongestant spray and throat sweets today.
Today I am grateful for my new bathroom floor, Dad still testing positive but feeling fine and some sunny weather at last.9
