I find getting a tow (slipstream) makes quite a difference. I am always surprised how good the economy is on busy motorways.
Who wants to maintain a two second gap anyway?

Even with a safe gap it's still a significant energy saving, especially if there's lots of vehicles all moving at the same speed.

A 999 call will take hours. Would be faster charging your car. Just find someone with an ICE to take you instead.
No, it could bit like saying your ICE will breakdown with a head gasket failure.

I saw a Skoda Enyaq today and it was great insofar as it is just a "normal" car that just happens to be electric, more "affordable" than most electric cars (from £41k) and has a good range (330 miles).  The thing that was most striking was that this was an enormous car, similar in size to the massive Kodiaq.

The majority of full electric vehicles seem to be large cars and this is something that needs to change for electric vehicles to complete the transition to majority mainstream.

Then I stumbled across the article below suggesting that EV's have to be large and small cars will simply cease to be.  I suspect and hope that the future will pan out more favourably.

I want to get on the EV bandwagon but second hand pieces are mental, I do have a car to trade against but I don't know if its value is similarly inflated.

Obviously there the electric 208, Honda E, Zoe and Mini - and the Leaf is a medium hatchback. But, yes, there a bunch of SUVs. All costing at least £35k. Crazy.

That's why I was happy to jump on the MG5. Looking forward to seeing a few more 'normal' car EVs.

I think the existence of the E-Up, E-Golf, Zoe, i3, Ami, etc puts paid to that idea. If a usable electric motorbike can exist, then there is basically no lower bound on the size of an electric car.

My understanding was that the 1 and 2 are useful to BMW in order to bring down their fleet average emissions [presumably it's a similar for the Merc A]. Once their big gas guzzlers have transitioned to electric, that justification goes away, and if the sales or profitability weren't all that good then there's even less point.

I've got a friend who tours the country using an electric motorbike on his time off. I've no idea what it is but he definitely gets about.

This thing has a range of 60 miles and a top speed of 58mph for £4,300 : https://urbanebikes.com/collections/electric-motorbikes/products/tc-max-62mph-deposit

Whereas this monster has a range of 161 miles and a top speed of 124mph. Admittedly it weighs 200kg and costs £21,620 : https://urbanebikes.com/collections/electric-motorbikes/products/zero-sr-f

There seems to be a pretty big range of electric mopeds and 'urban' motorbikes that are capped at 28mph. I can certainly see the appeal over an electric bicycle (capped at 15.5mph assist), if someone lived in an urban area.

Also in Asia, battery swop stations seem to work really well for two wheelers. Just pull the battery out, insert it in one of the slots in the wall of batteries, and take a charged one.

Obviously Europe is a different beast to Asia, but I can't see a massive issue v's say London, and other large cities. Could be a go-er.

Talking about small cars, there's also the ID3, which isn't cheap, but good value at around £30k.

Plus the Dacia Spring at around 100 miles, and €20k, but not in the UK (yet?)
