The signs are presumably unlit and we do not have street lamps here.1

Perfect for UKPC then, with their guy lurking in the shadows.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Lindsey006 said:So today 7 x 15 foot grey poles are being installed around the car park. Apparently a man and a van is to visit and parking will be restricted to 90 mins. The installer assures me the poles are for signs only, not cameras. I don’t have an issue with this except that the 15 foot poles are now an unsightly view, do they have to be so tall? The installer says they only have the one size. 7 poles, 20 car parking spaces seems a bit of an overkill but can I do anything? No planning permission but would this actually stop the installation? All in a semi rural village with ample free road parking. He lied of course UKPC have shorter poles here is an example of one:As for the distance from town, that's exactly why they were pushing for anpr, easy cheap pickings, patrols are no longer their first choice or give best return.15 foot poles are for CCTV or ANPR not signage.5

I fear you may be seeing some cameras going up on those poles....not signs6

Its often been repoted that parking companies dont worry too much about things like planning / advertising consent, or even the acuracy of ANPR set ups. When issues arrise, such as double dips, or sendong parking charg notices to people who should not have received them its all brushed under the carpet, if ti gets reported in the media again its brushed off as a one off, and the same old stuf is trotted out - we have a third party parkig company working in or car park - nothig to do with us , signs are audited by the BPA/IPC industry recognised appeals service blah blah blah.I wouldnt be at all surprised to see an ANPR set up appear here , and f you ( the OP) or anyone othr legitimate user of the lane gt s a pakring charge notice then come down like a ton of bricks on the landowner who allowed this to happen. If you have te right to pass and repass without let or hinderance and the equipment instlled by the PPC affects this, then i would be tempted to place a bin bag over the camera or adjust the camera so it points at the sky - all without causing any damageFrom the Plain Language Commission:

I have a right to pass freely so I and my visitors should be able to drive in and out with no interference, as do another 2 houses. I don’t trust the landowner or UKPC at the moment, they are both looking to make money for sure.4

I have complained to the council re the poles visual effect, and proposed advertisements. Time for a solicitor if Anpr cameras arrive I guess, if they can actually do anything of course.3
