Adidas threatening letter

So if DWF have said that they are going back to Adidas, are they also saying that whatever the error was was caused by Adidas? (I can't see any reason for them to go back to Adidas otherwise).
If this stems from an error by Adidas I would send a strongly worded formal letter of complaint to them. They should not be causing their debt collectors to send out erroneous collection letters to their customers threatening legal action against them for non-existent debts. Doesn't really matter if it's an honest mistake or not.0 -
Logically the error must have originated from Adidas as they're the ones who hold the database of customer and returns data. They'll have prepared a list of customers who have had refunds for returned items except the items were never received - but forgot to filter out all/some of the cases where the items had been confirmed as received. Or they forgot to update their database when the returns were confirmed.

I replied back and said I’ve already spoken to them and they apologised and said it’s now back with adidas and they will review it and DWF will be in touch if there’s anything more to it0 -
I’ve received one of these letters today from an order I returned in October. The value they are requesting is double the order value.
Did anyone get any luck with resolving this. I have tracking etc which I have forwarded onto the company0 -

How much was your order and how much is on your letter? I went back to DWF last month and explained that it was returned with proof showing that the tracking shows it as delivered and they passed it back to Adidas. I have heard nothing since.0 -
I’ve received a letter similar to this too for an order I sent back yonks ago!I’ve had correspondence with them and they’re claiming that although I sent proof of me sending it back, the order tracking from Royal Mail says I put the return to the post office but it then got sent back to me! This was not the case, I never got my stuff back and I don’t know where I stand because they’re making out like I have to pay it as they’re claiming that proves that I owe them? They’re saying adidas never received the stuff.Anyone got any further with this? I’m really not keen to pay them a penny as I shouldn’t owe anything!0

They’re just trying to scare people into paying something which isn’t valid. A prepaid label is a contract between Adidas and Royal Mail. This is between the company and the courier, not you the client but it’s easier to scare a consumer than it is a large company like Royal Mail. Tell them to get stuffed.2
