I’ve received one of these letters today from an order I returned in October.  The value they are requesting is double the order value.

Did anyone get any luck with resolving this. I have tracking etc which I have forwarded onto the company
    Hi

How much was your order and how much is on your letter? I went back to DWF last month and explained that it was returned with proof showing that the tracking shows it as delivered and they passed it back to Adidas. I have heard nothing since.

Hi did you hear anything back from DWF or adidas??
I too have received a letter today for non returned items?! I used the pre paid envelope but I’m not sure I have any tracking information as it’s from over a year ago?? Surely if an item as lost this would be between adidas and the courier?
My bit has surely been down by taking the item back and it been scanned in? Just not sure what I can prove without any tracking information from over a year ago?!

It's not your job to prove you returned it. It's their job to prove you didn't return it. Do not get into battle with them, they're chasing for free money.
  • I've had a 2nd letter from them, has anyone else had another?
  • Ive had second letter and an email. Dont really know what to do?

Will they take me to court?
Someone come to collect the "debt"

Stuck for what to do here

They will not and cannot take you to court. They will threaten to until they’re blue in the face but they can’t do it nor will someone come to collect the ‘debt’.

they are parasites who feed off scaring people into paying something that is not owed. They must be able to provide clear and full evidence to pursue any debt.

the letters are worthless and have no legal meaning. Do not worry, only adidas can pursue this legally which they won’t do as the evidence is lacking and the issues are over a year old. It would get laughed out of court.

ignore and bin any future letters you get.
  • I received an email the other day from them stating

"Adidas refunded you but have not received the items due to this Adidas are in their legal right to collect the repayment.

We will need an immediate payment or a pre proposal of repayment, failure to do so may result into legal action."

Why would they not take to court or come collect the "debt"??

If there working for adidas surely they have the power to go through with court proceedings?

I returned the items so i dont know why this is happening or how to prove that the items were sent back. Very worrying

  • I got an email saying,

    "Thank you for your email.

I can confirm that Adidas have not received the items as they were sent back to sender.

As you have been refunded and Adidas have not received the items they are in their legal right to demand a repayment".

Can't imagine it will lead to any claim I think as we have emails from adidas admitting they recieved the items plus it was a year ago.

The debt doesn't exist. You have dropped the return off at the post office and they were returned via royal mail. Using a prepaid label, this constitutes a legal 'contract' between Adidas and Royal Mail. Adidas should be pursuing Royal Mail for any items deemed as not received but of course, it's easier for them to target the customer.

DWF cannot take you to court or issue legal proceedings. Only Adidas can do this which more than likely, they wont because it's over a year old, damage to PR, you have all the evidence showing you returned the item. Your job is done. The issue is between Adidas and Royal Mail.

Do not give into their threatening letters, they mean absolutely zilch. Only when you recieve a letter before claim do you take things seriously and that is very unlikely or they're asking for trouble and to be laughed at by a judge.

    Ignore it.  It's just bluster.
