"Not a single sympathetic word for the driver in any of the Comments!"

I could not get into the comments however drivers who have never yet received a PCN can be smug until they fall foul and then their views change very quickly.

I would not even attempt to drive into that space. Apparently PPL took videos of a motorist parking in that space. It must have be doctored.

A few recent articles. I particularly like the one where PPL states that drivers do park in the spot where they would have to drive through the concrete post. :)

Thats really bad, and to think it went all the way to court and stayed there for so long before being quashed. The politicians really need to get a grip and make legislation that controls these out of control companies.

I don't think that you would have anything to lose by writing to Quinn.

It is looking likely that this claim will result in a court hearing. This PPC has been beaten on this forum a number of times.

The PPC will say that you breach the terms and conditions by parking in a "staff only" car park. You however have retained your staff benefits and I assume that you will have evidence of this.

A judge will look at the terms and conditions an determine if you have breached them. You have a staff account and that is an indication of you being still classed as staff.

Is there anything online which indicates that your bank account is a staff account? I would start putting evidence together.

Don't stress about it. There was a poster on here a week or so ago and she was terrified but she got through it and won.

I have searched for the copy of the TUPE contract from the bank. We were advised by the managers and senior managers that if we stayed until the handover was complete we would have staff benefits and those would be retained even after leaving.
I have searched for the paperwork and unfortunately not had any luck. I did ask HR Horizon who seemed clueless so i dont have high hopes of a copy from them.
Nothing states this online but over the years ive regularly asked the question about my account and have been advised each time it was still showing as a staff account.
I've been so hectic and recently been so busy and tired. But, hopefully in a week or two i should have more time, and i will definitely do what i can so that these company doesnt get a penny.

The guy who runs/ owns this firm comes across as a bit of a narcissistic ego maniac so isn't likely to admit he is trying it on or is in the wrong. If you read the language on their website its very snotty and arrogant - loads of gaslighting guff about how motorists winning in court is "total myth" which is BS as PPL have been thrashed loads of times in court!  He also uses words including "offenders" and "prosecution evidence" in his narrative!  I would advise you to stand your ground and see them in court. You'll no doubt get lots of "good faith offer" begging letters in the run up to court which will make great lining for a pets hutch or litter tray!  You have a strong case with hardcore video evidence!  They have nothing!

Complaining to IAS/ IPC - it doesn't hurt as they may cancel it to avoid any negative publicity on their brink of extinction in the run up of the new code being reviewed, but their loyalty is normally with the PPCs - but don't ask don't as they and it shows the court you've gone down all available avenues to neutralise this tosh to see it off before getting to court!

The staff at that branch sound completely unprofessional chastising you in front of customers for the sake of a quick phone call  🙄  I would definitely pursue that as can only imagine it must have been somewhat frustrating and humiliating.

I will make a letter and complain to them both.

As for the staff - I dont know if a complaint to them will result in anything substantive? I dont think that anything will be done as the HR people were useless too and purposefully became unhelpful, even saying things like it was impossible to message someone who i had already messaged etc. This bank i already know are a law unto themselves.

This article about a PPL claim is a hoot.  They claim that it is possible to park a car in the spot referred to in the article. They invited the Mirror to see this. I would have gone along with this and watched them smash their car up against that concrete pillar.

Like Excel this PPC was an ex-clamper. PPL have been described in the press as a "notorious ex-clamper". I always think that it is best to keep referring to them as ex-clampers in defences and witness statements as some judges think that it is like dealing with John Lewis or Marks and Spencer.

Thats a great idea. Call them what they are and keep calling them that so they cant put a suit on and make out that they are some kind of business trying to "just" do their job.

I have written out a letter to send to the head of HSBC.

Can it be improved, add anything, remove anything? By the way i used to be chair for a charitable organisation years ago that i setup to help others who had been scammed with the cashback phones deals years ago when fraud was rife. I got everything organised for the production company that made content for Channel 4's Dispatches programmed. There was also press interest from the BBC, tv and radio as well as many other news outlets.

I'm thinking of using the subject field as "Urgent - Adverse potential risk of bad publicity on TV and online to the Bank". Is that too much, should i use something completely different?
Also, is the below letters tone alright? I dont want it to seem aggressive as thats not the intention.

    "

    Dear Mr Quinn

I used to work for HSBC XXXX, where I was eventually made redundant through a TUPE contract with which I retained HSBC staff rights including the staff bank account.

I parked at the back of the Solihull HSBC branch for a few minutes. A large transit van was parked sideways covering around 4-5 bays and the small signs for the parking area by the fining officer. It was not apparent that the spaces were specifically for members of staff (which technically I have retained my benefits). I was fined 16 seconds after parking of which I have a video, and this is against the code of conduct for parking firms.

I have approached the branch in question who have not been helpful even though it is possible for them to have the PCN cancelled. The manager unprofessionally chastised myself in front of customers (after asking for some privacy) and said that she cancelled these fines for others but will not do so for myself.

I have now received a Letter before Claim for £170. This is likely to proceed to court as this ex-clamping company are extremely litigious. This particular ex-clamping company have been the subject of several newspaper articles in the national press about their aggressive behaviour. I do not want to resort to involving the press but I am at my wits end at the unfairness of this action and the aggressive, bullying tactics of Premier Parking Logistics. I have know the producers who works for Smokefall Productions who create content for the Dispatches programme for Channel 4, and I also contacts with BBC West Midlands and BBC Radio as well as other journalists.

This has been kept brief. However if you would like the full information about how this ex-clamping company has been behaving I can provide further details and the resulting risk for bad press which most likely will affect the banks image and brand by association.

I am asking now as a last resort if you could please intervene to cancel this unfair parking charge notice before this matter goes to court.

Thank you for your help in this matter.

    Yours,

    Ex-staff member
