@otb666 I worry a bit that the lethargy is a sign your body isn’t getting enough energy. Is there any help you could get from the doctor like could you get a dietician referral and see if there’s any specific diet suitable for your health conditions that would make a difference without cutting your calories so low? Or would exercising kickstart your metabolism a bit so you can eat more - doing something weights and increasing muscle mass can help with this.Ignore me if you’ve been down that route or are happy with your current diet - none of my business but just felt concerned when you said that.Part time working mum | Married in 2014 | DS born 2015 & DD born 2018

Stuck to plan yesterday and it was almost the first time I’ve found it a bit harder mentally.
W - 15 min HIIT workout
B - scrambled egg, smoked salmon and toast
S - small bowl of grapes
L - halloumi & lentil salad
S - 30g nuts
D - cheesy chorizo chicken (a cooked mixture of chicken breast, chorizo, tomatoes, spinach, red onion, pine nuts and mozzarella - really tasty)
After dinner went to the pub with a friend but I drove and stuck to two diet cokes 😇
In general I’m finding the low carb absolutely fine, surprisingly as I am a carb fiend normally! But the diet is filling and tasty. Yesterday was a bit harder and I felt hungry later in the afternoon after the halloumi salad for lunch. I’ve got enough of it left for today too but I might have it for breakfast instead - don’t want to waste the ingredients!Today I should actually get to the gym for a proper workout, my gym has quite restricted class times and between work, childcare and my husband and I having lots of plans this week this is the only class I can attend unless I got up before 6am one day, which I didn’t fancy. Would rather work out from home and get more sleep! Next week I should be able to get in twice which is my aim every week.
My first weigh in day is tomorrow morning, eeek!Part time working mum | Married in 2014 | DS born 2015 & DD born 2018

Morning everyone just popped in to say I am feeling really motivated since joining and have stuck to 1200 calories a day hopefully it will show on the scales next week I had a migraine at the beginning of the week which I never get but I put that down to too much Easter chocolate I will charge my Fitbit over the weekend and step up my exercise although I have quite a physical job and walk anywhere between 5 and 7 miles a day just at work going to fit a bit more stretching and weight exercise in keep going everyone4

Walked to the corner shop for milk yesterday, total of c.200 yards covered .Ridiculously small distance for almost everyone else, but at least I am moving a bit after 2 years staying home because of arthritis, underactive thyroid, pernicious anaemia, diabetes etc etc etc.Ohand evading the dreaded covid of course. The list is endless!
But at least I got out 3 days running. Cool
Because I walk with a stick and am uneven in gait I get pains in the lower back and hips,so I need to start up with mobility exercises to strengthen my muscles for walking longer distances.Baby steps is the motto.I so shouldnt weigh in every day,my weight fluctuates.I posted straight 16st as my starting point, the weight I showed on 1st April, and have seen it as high as 16st 3lb,and as low as 15st 12 this last week.So I will weigh in each Monday morning I think.Back in 2017 when I lost 4 st in 6 months,I used to go to Boots on a Monday and weigh in. Unfortunately they took away th weigh machine due to covid. Need to check if they have brought it back.4 -

re walking with a stick.....when I used to do a lot of walking a couple of decades back it was recommended to have a walking pole. And then that was criticised as it throws one's gait off and makes you more dependent on one side over the other. So a pair of walking poles became the thing. Even now if I'm going for a short walk somewhere I still use my walking poles as they really save one's knees, hips, back. They help me maintain my balance (I've done too many face plants without them) and keeps me moving.
Places like Lidl or Aldi often have relatively inexpensive ones you might watch out for - assuming they would be the right thing for you. I've got some from a outdoors shop which have spike tips - great if crossing a muddy field - but you can get them with rubber tips like are on a cane if you are just using them in town.

Welcome longhill
i have added you to the chart and good luck. I find anything where you don't want to get grubby with sticky hands like knitting or sewing is good to try and defer eating in the evenings
Dusty well done on your walk, as you say baby steps and try not to do too much too soon
Migraines are horrid things Izzy i hope it's all gone how as i know they can linger for a few days. I'm glad you are feeling more motivated long may it lastLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin7 -
Good morning everyone!
I hope that everyone is keeping on the straight and narrow after the excess of Easter! I’m very lucky that I am not a fan of chocolate or anything sweet (would always prefer a starter than a pudding when eating out).
Reporting a -2lb @Brambling for this week - lovely sunny evenings this week so have been out every day and managed 10k+ steps for the past 7 days. Also went swimming for the first time in years this week, boy do use muscles that you don’t usually 😳 enjoyed it though - will definitely go again!46,484 > 0(January)

Just checking in to record a 1lb loss. I was rather hoping for more but Easter got in the way which meant no staff so we lived on rushed meals without much thought as to what they were.
Mobility:- I think it is a general problem as you get older, it certainly is for me. The top half of me works quite well, I'm still strong and can lift things quite well.
The lower part of me is a different story. I've had two new hips-a great success and one new knee, (not to mention aortic valve replacement and 2 x 2 bypasses) but I've noticed my balance is not what it used to be especially across rough ground. Distance walking is not good but I put that down to my weight and the fact that my other knee needs replacing.
I'm finding that I walk with my head down looking where I'm going so I don't trip over as it's hard to get up again. I'm also extremely careful around the boys (4 stallions). On a day to day basis they're fine but they are always looking to climb up the pecking order so being on the floor is not the place to be.
Hopefully losing weight will help - it certainly wont hinder things. Also, I've a lot to be grateful for:- surgeons and modern medicine. The things I've had done were not available in my parents lifetime, so the least I can do is to try and do my bit. Not easy I admit, many pitfalls along the way but I'll try5 -
I lost 1kg this week - as I had previously gained a 1kg - it puts me back to square one. That's something I guess.
The nicer weather with the lighter evenings is helping to get the extra steps in. I try to go for a post dinner walk.
Well done everyone for another week conquered!5
