I would love to join this group. I have a host of metabolic problems, including diabetes, high BP,rheumatoid arthritis(my body has been attacking itself for many many decades!) Back in 2017 I set out to put the diabetes into remission and was very successful.I lost 4 stone in the process, going down from 18 st 2lb to 14st 4lb.. The weight slowly returned and by late 2019 was back to 17st .Its 2 years to lose a stone despite follow the regime which had been so successful before.!All last year I stuck at 16 3lb,nothing would shift it.Couldnt understand it in 2020.Because of all my health problems the docs advised I shelter myself from covid.Normally when I get a cold, usually as a gift from OH,he gets better after 4 days, mine gets in my lungs, fills them with gunk, and I suffer for 8-10 weeks. Plus I suffer from ear and UTIs,and generally am a load of rubbish! lol.Anyhoo,I stayed at home and have hardly seen my family for 2 years. They all know about my shocking constitution, and that I lost my brother in law,two cousins and a friend from covid, and my son lost a good friend and saw another friend barely survive,so we have taken things seriously, despite all the crazy people around - including our wonderful(?) politicians - acting as if its nothing Tell that to the families of almost 2000 people who died this week aloneAnyway since I was isolated at home I was confident that I could lose weight,so imagine my horror on learning that thyroid problems make losing weight almost impossible. I was so discouraged I fell into depression. What i didnt know till summer 2021 was that I had also developed pernicious anaemia. My body wasnt making any IF,Intrinsic Factor. This hormone in the lining of the stomach collects any vitamin B12 from food, and uses that B12 to make new healthy red blood cells. No matter how much vitamin B enriched food you it,without IF it just passes by.... So breathlessness, lethargy, fatigue and depression piled up on top of all the other stuff I suffer from. I now have a B12 injection every 12 weeks. My count was so low 9 months have gone by before I have seen even a speck of improvement, but suddenly I think things are on the move.I lost 1 lb each month Jan-Mar,and already 1 lb so far in April. I am willing to try sharing any progress with this group. Its encouraging that you dont demand regular weight loss of a few pounds. 1 or 2 pounds a month would really be encouraging to me!!!So off I start tomorrow once the easter eggs are gone. Wish me luck!8

Welcome Dustydigger 👋 I've added you to the chart, let me know if you want to add a target
I've a under active thyroid i waited over a year with monthly blood tests whilst it went up and down gaining a lb a day some weeks and being so tired that all I did was work and sleep. It took a melt down with the doctor to be put on tablets and I was most put out to be told the weight won't come off with the tablets but had to be dieted off 🙄.
I hope everyone is having a good Easter and avoiding too many naughties 🙂Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin5 -
Hi,Brambling.been there, done that, got nothing from docs. My test results were a mix,and our surgery only go by certain factors,so I was classed as all clear. Gave up trying.Diet hopefully helps a little, but it makes for a hard life.Anyway, can but try..So,starting weight straight 16 st..Difficult to aim at a target, but I have been happy at losing a pound a month for the last year - massive effort needed as you know,Brambling.Lets go for a target of one pound the rest of the month.Starting walking today. Tried a month ago, walked 3/4 of a mile, and it nearly killed me,so I'll start off with 1/2 a mile and ease in slowly. Still a bit undecided on my eating plans, but we'll see how it goes4

At one time my BMI was 34.5. It is now 20.8.
So I am already in the "healthy weight" range.
Losing another 6 lb would get me to 19.8.
I achieved that at some point in the last few years and want to be there again - some of my clothes will then fit a little better.
After decades of being overweight, I think my real "break through" came with Paul McKenna's "I can make you thin" (book and CD). Actually it was the CD. I first borrowed it from my local library and it began the gradual weight loss.

Back from my holiday and recorded a STS which I am very pleased with as we had all the nice buffets.
Back home now and back to a more normal for me way of eating so I am hopeful I will record a loss on Friday3 -
Well done Ziggy I hope you had a good breakLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin3

Well done everyone who’s been losing weight or staying the same 🙂
I’ve been at it since Friday and I’m really enjoying my new lower-carb diet (with carb refuel meals after workouts). The food is really tasty and filling and so far it’s been relatively easy to stick to.I’ve worked out every day since Friday - a class at the gym on Friday and 15-20 minute HIIT workouts at home the other days. Feeling a little tired and sore but in a good way!On Friday I went out with friends but I offered to drive so I couldn’t drink, it also saved me money and meant I didn’t have a hangover the next day which saved me from eating rubbish!
Today we had BIL and his girlfriend here for a barbecue, I made hotdogs but didn’t have any and stuck to one (but a big one!) lovely homemade chicken kebab, bursting with salad, tikka chicken, hot sauce and barbecued peppers/onions. Plus a bit of homemade coleslaw on the side. I did avoid eating any chocolate (the kids made Easter nests to share) or drinking prosecco so that’s all good. As I worked out first and stuck to the food I planned to eat I’m happy 🙂Part time working mum | Married in 2014 | DS born 2015 & DD born 2018
