NST April 2022: April opportunities

Productive day in F0xh0le T0wers - DH has gone off into a field for a couple of days so I am free-range and unfettered (except for 3 kids).  Supper was a pick-a-plate free-for-all, so the fridge is emptier, two chinese, one chilli, one curry, gone.  L/o rice was fried.  Washing up done and kitchen worktops cleaned.  Pantry tidied and hoovered out, making a good start on clearing and cleaning.  So much easier without a man about the place.  Books back on bookshelves and baking tins organised.

Wading bird shop was fab, vegan mince, 6 cal jelly pots, salted caramel 4lpro icecream, ys gingerbread soreen, free from rocky road (£1 for 2 boxes) and posh pasta. Will not feel remotely guilty about abandoning them all again on Monday.

Spent the afternoon writing postcards for competition entries using magic free stamps.  Maybe... just maybe... well somebody has to win, don't they?  Why not a Turtle??

Gratitudes: being able to see a house improvement already,  still having 3 days of school holidays left, having a plan... and having my massive new bed all to myself tonight!!!  It is so comfy. No regrets round here.

This morning I managed to fill my travel mug with lovely hobtop coffe, to then knock it over and lose it all 🤪. I wasn't impressed with myself! I know how a good coffee can set the day off aright.

Today I am grateful for surviving even after losing my coffee, for some lovely kids, for helping out a colleague, for dc surviving their first day of exams (no coffee involved for them!), for the bin cupboard sill being finished and ready for finishing touches, for having finished work for the week.

Evening

Been to the office again today, had an eve meeting so didn't leave till 8pm.  Had a walk at lunchtime and before my meeting so have achieved 12k steps today.
Some small spends - bought lunch today, rarely do this but didn't have much in and wanted salad, also bought a few other items.
Gratitudes - WfH tomorrow, text chat with sister, driving home via the scenic route

I can tell you all now, that if any of you visit Thrifty Towers, I will lower the drawbridge for you to cross the moat any time😃

A good day at work. Did yoga before breakfast for a change. Had dentist after work, but he wants to keep an eye on a cracked tooth, rather than treat it now. Shortened sleeves on 2 more coats this evening.

Grateful for the light feeling of having altered the waistband of last night's trousers frog, teacher giving me some Easter chocolate, the thought that I've only one sewing job to do over the weekend (unless there's more at my drop off point tomorrow) so I can spend time in the garden. Also my memory bears arrived & the lady absolutely loves them 🥰

Did my first conscious NSD yesterday and feeling great  

Work was average yesterday but there were some great moments that I'm grateful for (below). Happy to be going into the office tomorrow as wfh has been getting me down lately. 

Grateful for
- a walk in the sun at lunchtime yesterday
- the motivation I have to improve my finances
- playing chess with a friend

I'll do next month if that's okay (I know we have 2 volunteers to do it sometime, so if May is your month shout up). I need to get my life back on track and running the thread will help me give it some much needed structure.
