Hello all! Not sure if I managed to post after the beginning of the month - bit now a whirlwind - had a hospital appointment just before term finished where I found our oncologist recommended a course of chemo for me - and had my first dose this week (still.in Raster break) - all quite quick, to say the least! - and a massive change from where I was at my original diagnosis back at the end of Jan.
Anyhow, it's not gone too bad - steroids mean my sleep is super crazy and I'm super sweaty (and can only wash my hair around once a week - grim!) Loads of drugs brought home with me and some self injections - but life is still not bad! Have even managed some baking - but no ironing as yet!
It has meant that the Easter break has been a bit rubbish for the kids, sadly - although we do have Ds1 home from uni for the hols - which include his bday. Dd also managed to go to see her boyfriend for the BHol weekend - which was lovey weather. We started tidying the garage a bit - and discovered that we have mice again..... we have put poison down - we have tried humane traps many times and get nowhere - so it's the big guns. Later this year we'll empty it out and give everything a good clean... (thankfully the garage is away from the house) and no doubt end up throwing some things away. But that's OK. My Xmas Decs are all in Sealed plastic crates, so they are fine at least!😁
I haven't kept up with posts - apologies - hugs to those who need and want them, congratulations and commiserations where required - and much turtle love and laughter to everyone 💜I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £2010 -
I'm making my bed. I've been doing it all day (involves sorting out the rest of the room). I took books back to the library and whilst I was downstairs I made brisket with carrots, celery, leeks and baby potatoes, cooked 2 chicken breasts, cut 2 more up and have them in tandoori mix, roast parsnips, roast veg, veggie pasta bake and more parsnips parboiled in the microwave. Plus put washing on the line and a new load in the washer.
Grateful for my bed (it will get made, have been trying to do this for at least 3 weeks), lovely food to eat all from peeling and chopping stuff that needed to be sorted, taking some of the heavy bags downstairs, good books, good serial. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage8 -

evening turtles
greent - lovely to hear an update from you, hope you manage ok with the chemo and self injecting. Can you delegate the ironing?
I've met a friend for a walk today and then walked to and from the hairdressers which totalled 16k steps. Was tired when i got home and my feet were aching so i sat in bed and read my book for an hour
Have spent at the hairdressers (but had put the money away as have to pay cash), also bought some bread and YS apples and oranges.
Have continued cleaning my room and sorting out stuff - nothing comes back in there without being looked through - have shredded and recycled lots of paperwork. Tore out the pages of my 2019 diary to recycle - i had my debt payments noted in there - was over 5k in debt and making repayments of £200+ each month - so glad to be debt free now.
Going to have an early night and read my book in bed soon
love to anyone struggling
Gratitudes - eating from stores, nice chat at hairdressers and no more grey! slowly making progress with my house
Love Deni x

I need to admit to a bad case of Demonic Possession again.I have cleaned and scrubbed the dining room and kitchen all day. From 10am to 7pm. Cooker, hob, floors, tiled splashbacks, windowsills, worktops, even descaled the coffee maker and the kettle, folded and returned all the laundry, the flaming place is spotless. 3 bikes out of the house to the shed.Nice pile of stuff to go to the recycling centre (tip) tomorrow - books, slightly too small kids clothes, soft plastics, broken electricals, all leaving the house. The most worrying thing is that I am looking forward to doing more tomorrow.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Foxholes - I think your OH needs to return from the field and save you from yourself!
Greent - Sending you hugs, it sounds like it's all been a bit of a medical whirlwind.
All quiet over here. Still on 3NSD and unlikely to score any more i'm afraid.
Took Mum to a carboot this morning. Crikey it was cold and blowy. Got a couple of little toy vehicles for my great nephew, some shoebox appeal items, 2 camisole tops and a jumper. Mum bought a lovely comfrey plant from a very interesting nurseryman and he recommended a couple of special gardens to visit about 1.5hrs from us. Hope to get to see them in the summer.
Went to town to buy some vegan food for my friend visiting tomorrow. Unbelievable that vegan food has less in it but costs so much more! There wasn't even that much choice. Got nice salad, sweet potato fries and vegan ice creams too.
Gratitudes: wild ducks coming into the garden for breakfast, some bargains, a phone chat with my DS. X

Evening Turtles. Small spend today on tea and an ice cream as we went for a long walk along a local seafront, hopefully the calories burned will make up for the ice cream. It was incredibly windy and I felt like I was wading through treacle until OH tucked my hood under my handbag strap as it was filling with wind and pulling me back!
The upside of the wind was that I got 2 loads of washing dry on the line though.
Today I am grateful for a lovely walk, an ice cream and losing a pound at last, yay!10
