V12 is dead Long live V13.
Managed to sign up to V12 today after speaking to E.ON on the phone.  Please call them if you want that added for your account.

Had another go on the phone just now and was told that it was physically not possible to be moved on to v12 as it had been pulled from the system. Asking to speak to supervisor did not help. How did you manage it!?

Was offered V12 yesterday morning. The price per unit of gas is 17% more than the 1 April price cap and electric 19%, so it isn't massively attractive as far as I can see.

I suppose it depends on what you're prepared to pay for "insurance" against a hike in the October cap, for next winters use.

Most of use much less over the summer months, so yes, you're paying more for what you use over the April-October period, but looking at the year as a whole it could still be the best call.

Ours worked out at 15% higher (April cap v. V12), at an "insurance" cost to us of about £200.   Will it have been the right choice?  Time will tell, but at least we don't have to worry about what the October cap will be.
How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)

Your gas usage should be very low until after the October price rise, which will probably be far more than 17%. So potentially a greater saving over the winter months.

We're probably in a different region, as ours are slightly different.

    Next Online v12
    Electric: 32.80 p/kwh - 44.75 p/day
    Gas: 8.53 p/kwh - 27.22 p/day

    April price cap
    Electric: 27.63
    Gas: 7.28
    same S/C (72p/day, for both - I don't have the split handy)

I thought that tariff has been pulled?
  • 3 days ago I was offered the V11 1 year fixed or the V18 2 year fixed, based on our annual usage it was only £7 per month difference between the 1 year & 2 year deals.
Based on our usage the costs are, £223 for the 2 year deal or £217 for the 1 year deal.

I had to call them again the next day as I was still having issues logging in, so I took the opportunity to ask if the 2 year  deal was still my best option, the lady on the phone said if I wanted to change my mind and swap to the 1 year fixed, the price had already increased in the last 24 hrs and would now be  £295 per month, from £217,  based on our average usage.

There are no exit fees whatever deal is chosen.

I didn't receive any email, I rang them up regarding an issue with my online account and after they sorted that out I was asked if I was interested in a fixed deal., hence opting for the V18 2 year fixed.

With there being no exit fees, it was a no brainer  for us to opt for the 2 year deal.
