I missed reading the email in full earlier and tried calling E.On this morning.

It looks like they have pulled the v11 and they were even able to tell me "You are an idiot for not reading the email in full, even though you opened it on Feb 26th at xx:xx & then on Feb 27th at yy:yy" - pretty impressive in terms of their tracking I must say & lesson learnt for discarding it as a "newsletter" at that point.  :(

My ideal scenario now is to stick to the current tariff that I have (Next Flex) for another 3 weeks and then switch to v12 on a BIG assumption that v12 will still be available then.  This is to save some heating costs (our health mandatorily demands it) for the end of winter.

I'll be checking online every few days to see if v12 is still showing and plan to call E.On should that disappear at any point.

Anyone think it's a bad idea?

Call them! I called a few weeks ago and got the V10 offer for electricity and they agreed to start it the 1st April.

My account was updated within minutes and clearly shows the current tariff and the V10 tariff with the agreed dates.
Same here.  I couldn't do it online, but phone call worked.
  • So I’m very late to the party and have just noticed this thread.
I have just signed up for the V12 and on my confirmation email, it states Next Online v12
“This tariff comes with 100% renewable electricity as standard and prices are fixed for 12 months. Payment is by Monthly Direct Debit only and you need to manage your account online. By choosing this tariff you agree to have a Smart meter installed where eligible. There are no exit fees with this tariff.”

I haven’t agreed to a smart meter and this was not mentioned when I renewed?
Can they make me have a smart meter?

Also, is this tariff better than remaining on the flex plus?
    thanks

It will have been in the T&C that you agreed to.
    Yes, it's in the T&C.

Managed to sign up to V12 today after speaking to E.ON on the phone.  Please call them if you want that added for your account.

ah ok.  never came across that on my account.

Did you do the switch to v18 online and does it happen to have an exit fee?

Interesting, good to know that you managed that. Just spoke to them on the phone this morning (after foolishly sitting on the original email) and asked whether they could put me on V11 or V12 and was told a flat "no". Guess I will try again!
