What do you base this on?

We all only have anecdotal evidence, but from people whose accounts I read and whom I spoke to, it seems that if you open an account in branch, they can manually assign you the Drummonds card. But from my personal experience, this isn’t an option anymore as you’ll be driven away at the door.

Otherwise if you apply online and meet Premier criteria you’ll be (automatically/manually, unclear) assigned the Drummonds card. If you don’t qualify, you get the beach hut.

Until and unless someone gives an account of getting a Drummonds card online without meeting Premier criteria, I think this is the safest assumption.
I was told by my personal banker that the branded card option has disappeared from the selector in branch but we still would get the Drummonds card (pretty much sure I was the first one in this forum confirming the existence of the Drummonds card and posted the first picture of it). That is what I base it on, unless this is only for existing branch customers (hence my suspicious rather than certainty). My 13 yo son has the Revolve Current account (for 11-17) and was issued the same Branded card when he opened it 2 years ago.
  • I hate to throw a Spanner in the works, but in August I opened a 2nd RBS account (Already have Child & Co) and choose the Drummonds Branch, I didn't get a Drummonds Branded Card, but I did get a Beach Hut (Premier Beach Hut but still a Beach Hut).

  • They might just direct the hoi polloi to sister bank NatWest.

Interestingly, looking at your profile you have opened the Child & Co account online around April and the. Those two around August. I am wondering if you have applied directly for a Premier Account when opening online or you first opened a standard one and then asked to be upgraded?

I would guess that an online application for a Premier Account, no matter the branch selected, would go through a different workflow.

have you been called by the Personal Banker in Branch to discuss your Premier Account?

Yes Opened around April and that was a Child and Co Card, opened at Drummonds and got the beach Hut, did get a  phone call and a email welcoming me to Premier but I don't think it was the Branch itself, although I might have been, got the persons mobile number and Email address for anything going forward, but never asked for Premier or applied for it.

That is really interesting because I have been told on multiple times that you had to specifically apply for the Premier Account, even for the free Premier Select.

if I may, and only if you are willing to share, are you saying that you simply applied for a standard account, entered your income details and based on that qualifying criteria you have been given a Premier Account?

In any case, back to the latest thread topic, I would still think that your account has fallen outside of pure branch allocation and gone to more general Digital Premier Management

Well, the only way to find out is for a guinea pig to apply and see what they get! I am very doubtful that the pleb would get a Drummonds card though

Just bulk standard account, got the card a few days later and was Branded Premier, got an email from Premier Banking / Premier 24, then a call the following day from a Premier Manager (I do have his name and details but won't post them here), the only thing I can think of (And this may have nothing to do with it) is that my account with NatWest is Premier and somehow the customer records get linked ?.

Not sure if this is relevant, but just noticed this Logo on the Email I received from Premier, which would indicate it might be the Same part / division of the Bank ?.

Is it still possible to use the Drummond's sort code in order to open an account? If so, please may you tell me what sort code we need to put in? Thank you
