Child & Co RBS Branch to close
Comments

Yep, I remember getting my Child&Co debit card and cheque book back in 2016. Good for a laugh.Deleted_User said:Well that's it Child & Co branch is now closed, already removed from RBS locator. It is now impossible we assume to open a Child & Co account as a retail customer, we await the brands fate which I am sure will become clear in due course. Whatever happens, if they do take it away from retail customers, it was good while it lasted and an amazing fluke in British bank accounts for the retail customer.

As of July 10th 2022, it is still possible to select 15-80-00 branch code, which appears as Child and Co, EC4Y 1BD. So it appears you can still open an account, although I did not complete the entire process. It may get held up further along the chain!0

Which just confirms what RBS official statement did, that Child & Co will continue to exist, they simply shut the brick and mortar branch.[Deleted User] said:As of July 10th 2022, it is still possible to select 15-80-00 branch code, which appears as Child and Co, EC4Y 1BD. It was more about establishing if it is still possible to open an account at the branch, considering the sort code is still listed on the RBS system under the Child address which now no longer exists. One assumes this will change one day. The actual official listing for 15-80-00 is RBS central office and has been for some time.Marchitiello said:

The branch is now listed as London Victoria (B) rather than London Childs.
The mailing address is not Royal Bank central office - that would be in Edinburgh. It's mailing address is Chatham service centre as it was when Child & Co was open.0 -
It is still listed as Child and Co on the RBS system, I note as you say it has changed to Victoria when you search the official sort code.Deleted_User said:The branch is now listed as London Victoria (B) rather than London Childs.

I am aware there is more than one RBS office, but I classed it as a main/central office. Is it not a centre RBS use? regardless of what they use it for, it is a central office. Even if its for mail. Note I did not say head office. I have been to the head office of RBS so I know the difference.

And as I stated "the actual official listing for 15-80-00 is RBS central office and has been for some time."
We have established it is still possible to open an account, which the last 8 or so pages was debating.0 -
Not another one of these pointless conversations - the branch name advised by the Royal Bank to the banking industry is now LONDON VICTORIA (B)
They will likely pull LONDON VICTORIA (B) for new customers, leaving the main LONDON VICTORIA sort code (160109) open for new customers until Victoria closes on 5th October 2022.0 -
Yes I know, I already stated that in response.Deleted_User said:Not another one of these pointless conversations - the branch name advised by the Royal Bank to the banking industry is now LONDON VICTORIA (B)

You are not reading what has been typed out. On the RBS system, which is used when opening an account, Child and Co is still listed under its old address under the sort code 15-80-00 and is still selectable, as if the branch is still there and open. It has not been re-assigned yet.
You really don't have to take part in the thread if you feel it is pointless or be rude, especially when it is without fact.2 -
I didn't realise RBS Victoria was closing. I guess the branch address will be changing again pretty soon (to Drummonds?).

Drummonds and Holts will be the only two RBS branches left in England after October from the RBS branch locator.2
