Reasons to be Cheerful

I haven’t watched the news for a good many years now, I can live my life without all the misery and upset that enters our heads and brings down our mood. That being said my prayers are with the people in the Ukraine , and hoping the war is over soon.
A lovely bright day here in the northwest, my garden is full of cheerful flowers 🌸
The ironing was done listening to music, and the beds remade.
Im off out shortly to meet with family and have a catch-up drink followed by some dinner.
I feel lucky and grateful that I live here with warmth and family I love.
I wish for happiness to all those who are struggling now in this country or abroad.💕Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.6 -
Thank you Jackie, comments much appreciated. Would you believe the boiler is on the blink so no heating or hot water! I have a contract but they can’t come out till Friday. Boiling kettles to wash my hair took me back to post war Britain. I have spent sometime with a calculator today and have reset my budgets - tight but just about doable. Will make lentil soup tomorrow which I like and costs pence. Got some charity knitting to get on with.5

The weather looks glorious today so going to get some washing on the line early doors. I can already hear Mr woodpecker in the trees behind our garden and he always cheers me up
A busy day at work for me but not many meetings which always helps, sometimes they can be quite time-sucking and not a productive use of my day.

It's a beautiful morning here, so I'm thanful for that, and although there'll have to be some belt tightening, we'll get by.Poppy, sorry about your boiler, I too remember the days when the only hot water came out of the kettle, Hope your boiler can be repaired and your contract covers it.5

I'm under the kosh time-wise and feeling stressed out as usual. I'm giving some food away on Olio so I am hoping that may give me a lift.No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.5 -
Good Morning all,
1. The sun is up and shining so looks like a mild day ahead
2. Its my eldest granddaughters birthday so will be chatting to her later
3. Definitely a day for a walk around the lake in the local park today
4. No shopping needed, and only some carrots to peel to make a carrot and lentil soup later
all in all not a bad day ahead
Take care everyone and stay safe

Morning everyone
-The sun is shining and a rainbow could be seen early on.
- I've been having a clear out in the house and have made a trip to the charity shop locally
- I bought some more small vases/jugs/containers for my new resolution of having more flowers in the house. I must sow some more flower seeds which will be suitable for cutting
- I took my granddaughter to school after we had breakfast. I used to do this regularly but my grandchildren have grown up a lot so its lovely when I do it now
- I'm going outside now - in the sunshine - to sow some more seeds.
Enjoy your day - whatever you have planned

Beautiful sunny day and day 5 not needed the heating on.
Did well at morrisons for reduced food items6 -
gorgeous day with sun shining and birds going mad in the park busily nest building. The mama duck sorted her babies out well this morning and they all followed obediantly across the lake this morning8

It's been very mild today so I've had all the windows open to let some fresh air into the house and it smells so much nicer.
I've had a "pottering" day at home and got lots of little jobs done, the ones I tend to put off but in reality don't take that long to do. Feeling quite pleased with myself.
I've adjusted the timer for the heating so it will only be on first thing in the morning and not at all during the day. If it's needed in the evenings I can put it on manually for a short while. So, less gas to pay for.
Be kind to others and to yourself too.8
