Hi ,I have been listening to the radio this morning while baking and to be honest its seems to be nothing but doom and gloom and despondency around at the moment I know times are tough and people are struggling, but at coffee morning yesterday we were all saying how people seem to have lost being cheerful. I have been through tough ,hard and sad worrying times but maybe its because I am an optimist that I have kept my sense of humour.
So this morning I was thinking maybe we should think about a few things that cheer us up, make us smile or just make us feel a bit brighter and happy for a change
for me today I think
1.The sun is shining and the sky is blue
2.I have batch cooked some biscuits for my great granddaughters and they look really nice as I decorated them with some tiny chocolate bits and I know they will be happy when their Mum gets home and gives them some this afternoon
3. Just see a blackbird in the tree at the end of my garden whizzing around the top with 'mrs' blackbird so fingers crossed i will see a few babies come the spring.
4..Some daffs are pushing up in the garden
5,. One of my grandsons just texted me to say he's settled in his new placement and starting to enjoy it.(He was a bit doubtful at first as he's not keen on change)
6.I'm meeting the above granddaughter at lunchtime to buy a birthday present for her eldest daughter
7. One of my friends has just become a granny after waiting for years for it to happen, a beautiful baby boy called Sutton
So for me its only gone half past 10 , and already I'm feeling quite cheerful. OK so bills will come in and food prices go up, but its the none monetary things that have cheered me up this morning
Anyone else feeling a wee bit brighter today? ,share you cheerful things, and see if we can all feel a bit better despite the doom and gloom

I am in the office today (a rarity these days), so am getting to enjoy the company and conversation of my colleagues in person.
I've just enjoyed a lovely lunch (jacket potato and beans), that I brought in with me.
It's not raining!

We are finally in our new house and although there's still a lot to do feel more settled. This morning the sun was shining so we got the bus to Deal and had coffee in a cafe overlooking the sea. It was warm enough to sit outside. Then we went to Aldi and did our shopping before getting the bus back.
I'm going to do some baking this afternoon too. It's been four months since I was able to do much as most of my kitchen equipment has been in store. It will be lovely to make a few treats for the grandchildren.11 -
