He may be 79, but the voice was as good as ever and he seems ageless. What an entertainer, and at the end he sang a song about freedom, and there were two flags behind him unfurled on the set and US one and the Union Jack, and the middle one came down and it was the Ukrainian flag the whole of O2 erupted and cheered their heads off
What a smashing end to a superb evening. Everyone was singing and 'Copacobana' brought the house down.
Back to reality this morning and the sun is up and shining and the washing machine is whirring so Monday morning once more:)10 -
Nowhere as near as glamorous as @JackieO but I went for a lovely walk this evening followed by a couple of hours with the loppers tidying the garden up. Strangely I feel quite energised and cheerful now!No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.3 -
Gosh I've never been called glamourous in almost 80 years
I'm a lot of things but Glam ain't one
more perhaps shabby chic
with the emphasis on shabby more than chic
Well another bright and shiny new day ahead.
1. Off to coffee morning and hopefully one of our chums Brian will bring his wife Pat in, who had her heart operation about three weeks ago, and is so looking forward to seeing us all again.Lovely lady and a strong member of our pub quiz team.
2. Then home via the library to drop some books off (I always try to double up on things and it saves on the petrol as its on the way home
3. This afternoon I shall be attempting to declutter some paper work form my tiny study upstairs, full of junkat the moment and in need of a darned good declutter
4. Dinner tonight is a cottage pie from the freezer. I have three left and three sausages and a little mashed potato left in the freezer so it will soon be time to defrost completely .I go away on holiday a week Friday so hoefully it will be done before then
5 All the washing was done dried aired and put away yesterday so a virtually empty laundry basket
6. No shopping at all to buy which is even better
have a great day chums

doesn't sheets ,pillowcases and duvet cover smell gorgeous when line dried I bring mine in and they are aired in the conservatory then put away in the airing cupboard or even back on the bed
Summer is great for catching up on those things I'm going to stick my winter dressing gown in the wash tomorrow I am in the summer one already and I wait for a nice blowy drying sunshine day to do the thicker one then it gets put away in the airing cupboard until hopefully the end of October
On Thusday as the forecast is good this week I shall wash the loose covers on my sofa as they are a bit thicker and need a good blow to dry them off.
Who needs scented airfreshner when the sofa will smell like the outside summer sunshine and breeze

My simple things today at the moment are
1. The sun is out and shining again, not too hot to be sticky ,but just pleasantly warm with a slight breeze.
2. Its one more week until my holidays , this time next week I'll be on my way to the IoW
3. I have a line of loose covers on the line drying that I did last night, so my sofa will be looking nice and bright again before my holiday
4.This morning I will be sorting out the stuff for my holidays into seprate piles to pack.
5. Checked my freezer and apart from two HM meals and three packs of bread portions its almost ready for defrostingThat really pleases me as I have been eating my way through it and some of the surplus is in DDs chest freezer so its another job I want done before I go away.
6. This afternoon ,if we don't get a storm that is supposed to arrive around three, I am going to the local park to see how Mama Duck and her brood are. I've missed them as I've been busy for the past week.
nothing very exciting but things that like Gers just cheer me up (plus cost nowt )
I hope everyone has a good weekend and the sun shines down on you all and you find a reason,no matter how small to feel good and happy with life

So grateful to be finally able to exercise again after a week of being laid low. Last night I became acquainted with the reality of crepuscular bees on 4 separate occasions as the sun went down. I am exceedingly cheerful not to have been stung by any of them.No man is worth crawling on this earth.

So far today I've
1. Took DGS Jack to his part-time job.
2. Returned a library book on the way back (no petrol wasted)
3.Sorted out another cupboard and binned a good deal of lidless tubs, and lids that had no mate to sit on
4. Collected a stack of old photos from an album to send to my nephew who hasn't seen them or had copies ,mainly of my eldest brother, his late Father. Its been on my to-do list for far too long
5. Finished anothet two squares on my charity blanket
I'm pleased as its only just lunchtime and I seem to have got a lot done ,must be the sunshine thats got me going
