This is a lovely thread Jackie
My reasons to be cheerful today -
- My little grand daughter aged 3 telling me 'I love you my best granny'
- The sun is shining and the bulbs are starting to peep through
- I am so lucky to have a very understanding boss while I am off work ill
- it's getting lighter in the evenings and seems like winter might be coming to an end
Take care everyone x8 -
Todays reasons to be cheerful

My reasons today:
- daughters handwriting has come on in leaps and bounds recently, and I returned home from work last night to her having written in cursive for the first time(PS. You cannot convince me that teachers are not wizards!)
- I popped to Morries to get a couple of bits, managed to find everything I needed and most of it reduced price too! Including some lovely stationary bits and a cute notebook as part of a gift for one of daughters friends birthdays (party is start of March).
- so I had planned on spending up to £10 on friends gift, but only needed to spend £6 and got more than I had hoped. I'm going to sew a little stationary folder thing for it all to go in, as someone gifted my daughter similar last year and she loves it (also easy to transport).
- arrived at morries at the right time as they were heavily reducing a lot of food. So got a chicken korma for hubbies lunch and some fancy veg for tonight's dinner. All for under £2 👍😁February wins: Theatre tickets7 -
I finished my jigsaw earlier.

I had to go to surgery for blood test this morning 🤔 I had a lovely walk in the sunshine, with spring flowers and birds along the way, a nice friendly lady in the waiting room, nurse found blood first time (quite unusual), reception staff were cheerful and friendly, that was a very positive experience😎 the sun was so bright, I did actually have to wear shades!7

Was out with the walking group in the sunshine yesterday, sea and sky were blue. And Jackie , so clear we could see IOW in the distance!Grocery challenge 2025: £650/1500 annual budget7

4 days off work now, My eldest wedding on Saturday
has been postponed twice now due to C19.
taking my late husband's photo with me to share the day, and my current partner is joining me in the hotel. Ex Ahole /aka my daughter's father will be there, but I am no longer afraid of him or his ways. so I am actually looking forward to seeing him in a weird way.. plus current partner is 6;5 and looks scary but is a gentle soul lol
I had a pay rise last month, I have a roof over my head that is almost all mine( 25% left to pay on the mortgage. I have food in my belly and clothes on my back. I know I am richer than a lot of people in the world.
and when I feel overwhelmed by life I stand in my garden and look at the sky.
today's mood is brought to you by coffee, lack of sleep and idiots.
Living on my memories, making new ones.

annieb64 said:We are finally in our new house and although there's still a lot to do feel more settled. This morning the sun was shining so we got the bus to Deal and had coffee in a cafe overlooking the sea. It was warm enough to sit outside. Then we went to Aldi and did our shopping before getting the bus back.
I'm going to do some baking this afternoon too. It's been four months since I was able to do much as most of my kitchen equipment has been in store. It will be lovely to make a few treats for the grandchildren.Carolbee6 -
Very cold but sunny and windy day , which mostly dried the washing!Just finished a tasty meal for tea.
picked up the perfect cardigan for my holidays.
A relative is allowed home from the hospital.
all of these are reasons to smile today.Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.8 -
Today's happy moments:
Woke to a beautiful blue sky with not a cloud in sight.
Lots of small purple flowers poking through a hedge nodding their heads in the breeze - not sure what they were but they were very pretty.
Having the foresight to use up some yarn to knit a couple of warm scarves for myself - I was very pleased to be wearing one today!
Being able to get everything I wanted on my shopping list (a rare thing these days) with the added bonus of a ys pack of turkey fillets reduced to half price.
Enjoying a lovely cup of milky coffee and a slice of hm custard tart when I got home.Be kind to others and to yourself too.4
