Wasn't it great that Nazain is at last free, a real bit of good news for a change and made everyone feel maybe a bit more hopeful for the future.
Today
1.The sun is shining brightly in my little corner of kent and the sky is a cloudless blue
2. Just hung a line of washing out and its blowing gently in the breeze
3. Spotted some more tiny daffs just opening in the garden
4. About to make a large pot of chilli with the mince I dug out of the iceberg in the freezer.bit more wriggle room now in there
5. DD's dog Stanley had his stitches out yesterday and is doing fine (he had part of his paw amputated as he had snapped a tendon in his foot (toe) He's a rescue greyhound, and a very lovely gentle soul bless him. Our Stanley is my DDs pride and joy and she was so worried about him
6.Have dug out some peanut butter cookie dough from the freezer to make some for my grandsons
all in all a nice day and feeling pretty cheerful at the moment chums

I have to use a stick to get around but I don't mind as just being able to get around is a bonus, when its a rainy wet day they just seize up and I creak like an old gate that needs oiling
1. I've just put a small 30 minute wash on, of the sitting room throws, as the sun is shining so they will get a good blow on the washing line.
2.I made four chilli portions for the freezer yesterday and had one last night for dinner.
3. Today I am going to have a go at a little spring cleaning ,the sun has shown up all the 'winter dusty bits' so I shall start to tackle it an hour at a time then rest for a cuppa, and see how I get on. It takes me a good while at times to do my housework ,especially if it involves bending , but today I woke up and joints are moving so I will take advantage of the dry warm weather while I can.
4. Yesterdays stroll around the lake in my local park was lovely and spring is definitely well on the was and everything looked so bright and green. The birds were making a racket and seeing Mrs Duck and her babies swimming busily around always brings a smile to my face.
5. There was a young expectant Mum with her little boy there and she pointed out to him the baby ducks and said soon we will have a baby sister to look after as well. Bless him he looked a bit doubtful and said 'Will we have to teach her to swim as well ? 'I love to see how childrens minds work. She was a lovely young lass, and grinned and said 'I expect so when she gets big enough'
People are always so nice in the park and I chatted to her for five minutes and she told me that she was hoping the baby would arrive before the June celebrations for the Queen as she wanted to help with her Mums street party.
Right enough chatting, time to get a wriggle on,Hope everyone has a happy cheerful day.

The weather has been lovely today with blue skies and fluffy clouds. The cherry blossom tree at the back of our house is showing red buds getting ready to open and my planters have a good assortment of tulips, mini daffodils and hyacinths. The hyacinths are a bit leggy but they add a pop of colour, so they're still welcome.
I've spent some time in the kitchen this afternoon and now have 6 portions of cauliflower cheese, 4 portions of mushy peas and 2 corned beef & potato pies cooling to go in the freezer. I've also made a large white loaf so that's bread taken care of for the week.
My grocery budget for the month is still looking healthy and I should have some cash left over at the end of the month that will be going to my squirrel stash to use towards next winter's energy bills.
The new jumper I'm knitting is coming along well and I'm hoping to master the lacy yoke pattern this evening. I'm not sure the pattern instructions are correct but I'll work it out somehow - I don't like being defeated! It's in a bamboo & cotton yarn blend that should make for a good spring/autumn piece of clothing.

Morning chums ,well another bright and sunny day ahead I just have to run my DGS Jack to his weekend job this morning and then back home to make a boiled fruit cake as I really fancy a decent slice of fruit cake
1. I've got all the ingrediants laid out ready for when I come back so it should be in the oven by 11.30.
2. a little bit more spring clesning to do this morning I find if I do a bit at a time it gets done, as opposed to going at it like a loonyand getting fed up and worn out
3. No shopping to get at least nothing worth going for.
4. Must make some custard to top the jelly trifle I made yesterday, for tomorrow for my DD. I take the pudding on a Sunday as I go to dinner every week at her house .
apart from that I think just pleased and cheerful that the sun is out and the sky is blue and this weeks forecast is excellent
Have a great weekend chums what ever you are doing

It's a bit breezy today but it's bright, sunny and dry and is forecast to be so for a few days more.
This afternoon I'm going for a coffee with a friend/ex-neighbour who I haven't seen for nearly two years. She's here visiting her son and his family and is meeting up with various people before she goes home. It will be good to do something "normal" for a change.
The meal plan for the coming week is done, with everything coming from what I already have in, so the only shopping I'll need is a bit more fresh milk.
I've mastered the lace knit pattern and yes, it was a printing error so it wasn't me going a bit batty!Be kind to others and to yourself too.6 -
The sunshine is out and my kitchen is a wonderfully warm environment to relax in this morning. Will go for a walk / chores later, including returning a library book I am only half way through. It's due back today and has 2 reserves on it
Overall life is good and I am glad of the break from the intensity of work.No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.6 -
Lovely day here at the seaside. Only need to spend on milk but Mr F is also buying some more bags of chocolate eggs for my fund raising stash - doesn't come out of the shopping money. The eggs from As.. have next years date so I can store them.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

My garden is awash with colour, huge rhododendrons full of white flowers, the yellow forsythia and the pale pink twisted branches of the kojo no mai , interspersed with white ,yellow flowers daffodils and others. Makes me smile every time I see it.
my tickets arrived for an upcoming holiday👏🏻Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.6
