On holiday from work after today, and have something planned for each day.
The mornings are light when I set out for work now and the evening before I have to close the curtains are staying light longer.
Booked excursions for my upcoming holiday .
My tulips are starting to open up .
Wishing everyone a cheerful Sunday.Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.6 -
Good morning everyone
It is sunny here and I have refilled the bird feeders and was very pleased to see a pair of nuthatches on one of the feeders. These lovely birds are quite unusual where I live.
I love seeing the birds in the garden.
I really feel relaxed and calm in the garden. There is a lot of work to do - but I enjoy it so much.
I recently bought several small pots of minature daffodils and some crocus pots which I will enjoy this season and then plant in the ground for next year. I separate snowdrops after flowering and plant small clumps around the garden, including in the grass, for next January. They are so beautiful when they flower.
I recently prepared a lot of meals from a joint of silverside - cooked in the slow cooker and have been able to freeze individual meals including vegetables and gravy. This saves me having to cook everyday which is a bonus!
I hope everyone can relax today, as much as possible, doing things that they enjoy.
I'm just going to have some time out watching one of my favourite programmes - Love Your Weekend with Alan Tichmarsh.
Hope you have a great day!7 -

Got to post birthday gifts for my dear niece today. That, plus the walk to the PO might make me feel marginally better.
Eta: the sun is streaming in and I feel slightly better all of a sudden! No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.4 -

Today's reasons to be cheerful:
- It's a beautiful sunny day with blue sky (I can ignore the fact it's cold, I'm warm and comfy inside)
- It's my slothful day when I do as little as possible
- I'm looking forward to tonight's TV and will be multi tasking by sewing up a jumper I've finished knitting
- I'm making a small shopping bag from an old pair of jeans and want to make the handles from some wide twill tape. I thought I might have to buy some but have found enough in my haberdashery stash, so pennies saved

Good Morning chums a bit hard to be cheerful with all the sad, bad news in the media today ,but I'm determined to find something to make me smile so ;
1. I am off to the local park to see the baby ducks and their busy Mum teaching and herding them behind her on the lake. That always makes me smile , I'll wrap up warm though as its a wee bit nippy out there
2. Got a block of butter from the fridge to defrost, I want to make some more of those peanut butter cookies
3. Tomorrow is my eldest DGD's birthday and she is 29 so I will possibly pop to visit her for a quick cuppa
4. Wednesday my grandson Henry is coming home for a few days from Uni in Essex, as he's virtually finished his course work so has a few days spare. I shall take him out to lunch on Thursday as he is longing for a pub fish and chips at our local pub.
5. The sun is struggling ,but it is trying to come out so fingers crossed it might brighten up later
6. All my daffs are going great guns in my garden, and they are looking trrific , bearing in mind last year they were dreadful
So today will be another day of trying to keep as cheerful as I can despite the doom and gloom.
Chin up chums all will be well in the end

Today's reasons to be cheerful:
- Last year I vowed to use up my yarn stash before buying any more; it hasn't all gone (yet) but is down to more manageable proportions and DH and I both have a selection of new jumpers to wear into the bargain.
- Today's weather hasn't been great (very grey, drab and no sun) but at least it's been dry and it gave me the opportunity to wash the kitchen window without it drying streaky.
- Just over a year ago DH had a couple of falls and fractured his hip the second time. It's been a slow recovery but he's now managing to walk reasonably well without a stick, around the house at any rate.
