Reasons to be Cheerful

Today's reasons to be cheerful:
The sun is shining, it's dry and the wind has gone! There are signs of Spring appearing and we have more daylight hours.
I saw two red kites (the bird type that is) circling overhead this morning; they were low enough to see how beautiful they are. They must have been looking for a late breakfast - or an early lunch.
I've utilised all the space in the oven today to make rice pudding (enough for 4 portions), a tray of 12 flapjacks, 8 fruit scones and some jacket potatoes for later in the week. And all done using what I already have in, so no additional cost.

After a very busy and very challenging week at work it's Friday and although DS is spending the weekend on a course (and I'll worry as to how he's doing!) DH and I are spending tomorrow together in town which is a rarity for us both to have time off together!5

Felt really PO'd yesterday night driving home in the freezing cold - who has to work these stupid hours on a Friday? Then I felt the comfort of my heated car seat and realised ho lucky I am. It was a long journey but the time of night meant I sailed through. No man is worth crawling on this earth.

lots of good reasons to be cheerful today
1. Sun is shining and sky is blue ,if a little nippy its dry and bright
2. Just hung my washing out for a nice blow
3.All bills paid and accounts doneand a little cash left from my February food budget to roll over into March
4.Builder came and repaired and replaced tiles blow away by last weeks storm so house secure and luckily no apparent leaks anywhere at least
5. When I picked up my prescription from my local chemist in the precinct there was a chap playing his guitar and singing away, nothing unusual I guess ,but this chap was in his late 60s and singing very well 'Rock around the Clock' to entertain people made many folk smile at his enthusiasm .He was pretty good as well
6. Grandson Henry just texted me to say he will be home from Uni for a few days next week so I will see him. Not seen since Christmas so I will take him out to lunch I think.
Sadder things today, just watching the news from Ukraine, and seeing the flood of refugees trying to get away from Kiev. So sad to see these poor people uprooted, and the little children looking so frightened. I can't imagine how scared they are.
Women and children being evacuated, and saying good bye to Husbands ,Brothers and Fathers never knowing how it will turn out for them. Please God Putin will have some humanity for these poor people.
so some cheerful things but also some sadder things as well
Take care everyone and stay safe

The conservatory has gone but I spent a wonderful morning lapping up the sunshine on my kitchen, no news in the background and no digital exposure whilst I waited on a delivery. It was just myself, my coffee and book which it gave me the mental break I needed after a knackering week.Am looking forward to a sunny seaside walk when this blummin' delivery shows up!!And finally, have decided to give TGTG another whirl this evening, ready to share my random goodiesNo man is worth crawling on this earth.

Today's reasons to be cheerful:
- Oldest DGS is 8 today and has grown a lot since I last saw him.
- It's sunny, dry and calm outside; a bit on the chilly side but infinitely better than rain/hail/snow.
- After having looked through my clothes I've decided I definitely don't need anything else. There's more than enough there and in fact some of it can go in the CS bag for someone else who can use or may need it.
- My cross stitch is coming along nicely and I find it a good distraction from the news. It's so sad that one madman can affect so many people just to satisfy his own ego.

Today's reasons to be cheerful:
- The sun is shining. the sky is blue and it makes everything look and feel better.
- I've got a "do as I please" day so I shall enjoy being slothful, for once!
- A decent night's TV viewing is in the offing and I have an unopened box of chocolates if I feel the need.
- The washing and ironing baskets are empty (for now).

@newlywed - 10 miles is a good walk! The seafront was lovely today, far less breezy so I was happy with my exercise quotient this afternoon. Popped into Lidl for one of their offers and was pleased that it hadn't disappeared. Also bought some goodies with orange stickers, which was shared / went in the freezer.
I really feel like I've reached a turning point at home, my kitchen was so wonderfully warm with the sun out I'm loving being able to read for hours and forget all stressesNo man is worth crawling on this earth.

@Rosa_Damascena my personal record is 21 miles. Let’s just say this new hobby is the best thing that happened to me because of lockdowns!

A day at home
tidied the freezer and used random bits for dinner
