Hi cheery folk ,hope you have all managed to stay anchored in one place today.Today is like a new born baby,
wet and windy
mehefin I must admit it was hearing the Ian Dury record on the wireless that made me use it as a title for these posts
Well despite the dreadful rain and wind I was up reasonably early to put the recycling out (it has to be outside off my propert and on the pavement ,local council rules apparently, by at the latest 7.00 a.m. ) This I did very quickly, as the wind was blowing a gale, and I don't think the sight of a doddery old lady in her dressing gown tottering down the drive was an image people needed this morning on their way to the station.
But job done and back indoors to get the kettle boiling and a hot cuppa soon kickstarted my day.
I had to battle my way round to DDs to pick up one of the boys and run him to work , bless him he's on half term from his PGCT but his weekend boss gave him an extra shift this week to help him out. He works at a coffee shop down on the medway Dockside outlet centre in Chatham. he won't actually start earning any decent money from teaching until this September and any lifts I give him saves him spending cash on bus fares, so I got a big hug and a smile which always makes my day.
Then my second cheerful thing was meeting up with friends at Dobbies for our Tuesday morning coffee fest (freebie coffee from my loyalty card)
I popped in to the garage to top my tank up, and the lady in there said 'I have extra papers left this morning by mistake would you like one for free ? ,:) better still, the day was just getting brighter by the minute.
Back home for hot soup for lunch and feet up a a read of the paper before going down to the Dockside to pick grandson up at the end of his shift.
So all in all, although the weather was dreadful ,I still enjoyed my day, had a great natter with my friends, and a couple of freebies, and a big hug and grin from my gentle Jack grandson, who is recovering from his broken heart it seems.
Life is still good, and tomorrow is forecast dry, so I may pop to the park and see if the lady I met last week is there, and we can have another natter over a cuppa. Plus we are over half way through February so not long until the spring
Cheers chums

Hi everyone, I am struggling to be cheerful today after a night of very little sleep (bloomin' wind!) but here goes...
* it's not raining today - whoop!
* some of my birthday presents have been delivered (but I'm not allowed to peek)
* I am feeling exceptionally grateful for our coffee machine today

Today's cheerful reasons:
- Small pot of daffodils in the kitchen are all in flower, a cheerful beginning to the day
- I'm inside, warm and dry, while Storm Dudley does its thing
- Have (finally) finished sewing up a sweater I've knitted - it fits and looks nice with a pair of leggings
- All LO's from the fridge have been turned into other things and not wasted

Love Ian Dury but his lyrics are somewhat 'colorful'. in some of his numbers!! Like that it gave you the idea though.5 -
Today's cheerful reasons:
- A good night's sleep, despite Storm Dudley's best efforts
- Managed to pick a dry spell for a quick trip to the local Co-op for a couple of bits - it started to pelt down (rain and hailstones) just after I got home
- A quick, easy and tasty tea tonight of corned beef hash from the freezer
Be kind to others and to yourself too.5 -
Despite the wind keeping me awake, I was up early for work, and managed to get a lot done.
evening meal is sorted , Chicken veg and mash ,so much easier when it’s already waiting in fridge to be cooked.
followed by cake 🍰 which I made yesterday to use up the Eggs .
lovely dsis picked me up from work so I didn’t get soaked.
curled up warm and don’t have to be anywhere tomorrow!Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.5
