Evening
Achieved another NSD. Found a birthday card suitable for my niece so no need to spend today. Got washing partly dry on the line this morning. Spent a lot of the work day dealing with a HR issue. Had a quick walk after work but then the wind started howling and the rain came down like needles stabbing me in the face so i quickly returned homeDid an exercise class on Fb. In the office tomorrow so have prepped lunch and tea.
Gratitudes - being indoors in the warm; food from stores; DD2 doing well at uni; DD1 having a nice time with friends; lovely boss at PT job giving me a reference for some casual work
Hope everyone keeps safe from the weather

Hope your sister gets on ok @Esmeralda2662.
Didn't sleep well last night, probably thinking about having to leave early to take my car into town for its MOT & service, then meet a colleague to get a lift to a smaller town for work. Car failed & needed some major tlc, so my backdated pay rise will have to go towards that if there's not enough in my sinking funds envelope 😓
Work went well, so a positive there. Saw mum for half an hour after I'd collected my car, then did some sewing after tea. Planning an early night with my book. Cinema booked to go with a friend on Monday.
Grateful for libraries, having a car to drive home with (though has to return to garage once other parts arrive), an easy sewing job, warm fires, hubby getting a date to get his fistula tweaked (next week!)Use it up, wear it out

Did all the Inheritance Tax stuff (we're under the threshold) and most of the probate stuff but got stuck on whether my brother should be named on the form - I don't want to leave him out but don't want people insisting he has to be present (he just can't do it). Sent an e-mail asking for advice as all the operators were busy.
Watched more films and moved stuff around (parts of the bungalow are ready for cleaning but not sure I am- might do a bit of floor each day and move stuff into the 'done' areas). Grey, miserable and very rainy so haven't been anywhere. Had a long chat with a 'cousin' (our mothers are cousins, not us) who was one of the people I sent photos to yesterday (on some I'm junior school age, on the others I'm 13 and she's 9). Also included lots of mum and her cousin taken in Blackpool- mostly when they were very young but one with them both getting on but still healthy.
Grateful for food and red cabbage, getting through paperwork without fuss (it's a lot easier with a will), being able to see spaces on the table (was piled 4" deep a couple of days ago), squirrels - not today but had a chat with one a few days ago, he was just above head height and kept peeping at me round the tree trunk, a very entertaining dog romping around this afternoon and refusing to be caught. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage10 -
mothernerd - If she is your mother's cousin, she is still your cousin - just further away. To find out how you are related, count the number of generations you have until you reach a common grandparent ancestor. Subtract two, and that is your relationship cousin wise. Then count the number of generations it took for each of you to get to that common ancestor. Subtract the smaller from the larger, and that is how many times "removed" you are. If she was your mother's first cousin, she would be your first cousin once removed (one generation apart). I would add a chart but I am not sure how yet.8

Hi turtles hope you’re all staying safe over there in the weather!Hugs to Kerry woman.NSD 7 for me yesterday. Found my to-do list and was pleasantly surprised by how much I’ve managed to get done without even referring to the list. So had the joy of ticking off loads of things.I am in full “search and destroy mode”, looking for things to get rid of and going through and sorting all possessions and dare say I’m actually enjoying it. Still one big frog remains of talking to the bank to get a savings account. I should shop around but honestly all the rates are so carp, well, non-existent, that I may just stick with my current bank. Grateful for finding a little botanical garden on my walk yesterday, for my cold sore clearing up just in time for work photos, for not getting too nervous at work yesterday when I had to talk in front of loads of people...have a wonderful day turtlesStudent loan £5655

Made £5 on p/a this morningMade £5 on football survey this morningMade 5 pizza bases for supper tonightMade 7 seeded bread rolls for lunch tomorrow (and put the chick peas on to soak overnight for the hummus)Played in the pantry consolidating open packets into labelled D0w Eggbert jars, and now have neat rows of loveliness (still can't get over c/s charging £1 for an empty jar - I beg/borrow/liberate them for free).- that was my tidying for the day. It also meant I realised I could make pizzas for supper and not have to go outside shopping until much much later 'ron'.I have managed my 5 books in Feb already.Just going to be lazy for the rest of the day now - spent over an hour folding laundry, have done the washing up, cleaned the bathrooms and am doing an inventory and shopping list of things we have nearly run out of. The prices in the shops are rising steadily, and I just got an email from my f0xy energy company that the daily charge for providing me with energy is going up from 18p to 44p for leccy and 18p to 27p for gas, before they even put the price of the fuel up!Keep safe lovely turtles, it is going to get a bit fresh outside. Batten down the shells.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Good Evening 🌕
Sorry for my absenteeism yesterday. Budge up on the chaise-long Mothernerd - I'm coming in to land <again>! Well done by the way on ploughing through all of the paperwork and for seeing table space again!
Thanks Esmerelda for the chocolate button tips!!! I never tried freezing them. I used to refrigerate double deckers... though should attach health warning as may end up cracking/pulling all teeth out in the process of consuming! I hope it all goes ok with your sis - sending lots of positive vibes!
F0xh0les - that is a lot of 'FIVES' you are hitting. However - we regret to inform you - you have been disqualified on your batch of seeded rolls for making SEVEN (heretic!!!). You will have to go back and start again and make exactly FIVE!!! 🤣 Get on that naughty chaise-long at once!!!
Yesterday felt washed out after work and gym and was in bed by 21:45! Even the thought of typing on MSE forum seemed like too much effort - just had about enough energy to turn my light switch off - honest guv! Today better and had a productive catch up day. Broke NSD law and bought a lunch (heretic!!!). Anyone would think I liked being on Apple's lovely comfortable chaise-long!
Today I am grateful for:
1) A yummy (if illegal) take-out lunch
2) Coming home to my warm cosy flat and listening to the wind outside
3) For finally seeing my abs (briefly!) again last night after several months.
Today was a spend day

Evening turtles, hope everyone is staying safe. Our trains are all up the creek here but silly me left my laptop at work yesterday as I planned to go in today and so I had to deal with the trains regardless. Am meant to be in tomorrow but may sack it off and wfh. Lose money on the train as I bought a pre-paid ticket but I could cancel tonight and get my money back minus a £10 admin fee (so essentially a £3 refund).
Dealt with/attempted to deal with loads of frogs today.
Sorted out bulk buying 6 physio sessions for 10% off. Pains me to pay it all out at once but makes sense.
Called HMRC to sort out my tax rebate but they can't help me so I have to wait and see if it's either reimbursed in March or call them again in April. Spent ages on their website trying to understand what I've paid and what I might be owed, still no clearer. Give me any spelling or English-based problem and I can deal with it, anything involving maths and it might as well be Spanish...
Sorted out some pet boarding for a weekend long wedding in June.
Contacted my previous employer about my salary overpayment.
Came home early to avoid the rush which was good. No trains stopping at my station so had a 20 minute walk from the station before, but it was sunny so I didn't mind.
