Together Energy collapses

Good luck with that when they won't even have set up new customers' accounts yet!wakeupalarm said:BG are still switching people on to BG Zero Fix October 22 as of yesterday.
Bristol Energy and Together Energy customers should get on to BG chat and ask to be switched to this tariff.0 -
Hi there
I was a Together Energy customer. The tariff we will all be moved on to at British Gas is called Welcome Together. The tariff details state that the tariff ends on 31 March 2023 and the price is guaranteed until 31 March 2023.
What I don't quite understand is whether this means the current price is now fixed until 31 March 2023, even though the tariff is basically BG's variable tariff. If anyone could advise I would be really grateful. Trying to avoid contacting BG right now!0 -

Where the tariff has a special name for the SoLR'd customers (like "Welcome Together") then BG have the opportunity to vary it (or not vary it) independently of their regular variable tariff. But that doesn't mean they will.I would plan for the tariff to follow BG's variable rate (which is almost certain to rise in April) and then if it doesn't you can be pleasantly surprised.N. Thanks. I get palpitations thinking about the price rise, so it really would be a very very pleasant surprise if it doesn't follow BGs variable rate!
It would be nice if BG could make things crystal clear for customers, thought.0 -
BG will give you about a month's notice if they do increase the price, so you'll have time to look elsewhere. Hopefully there will be somewhere to switch to.Accidental_Landlors said:Thanks. BG have a bunch of these 'variable' tariffs with a 'Price guaranteed' date for the SoLR tariffs. It remains unclear why they are setting them up like that but so far at least, I can't recall any of them changing the price before the guaranteed date, lets see what happens in April, but with the 'guaranty' I don't see how they can change them...It is worth noting that their standard variable tariff does not of course have a guaranty date...0

I had a closer look at the 'additional information'. The little blue '1' means its variable. So its a variable tariff with a guaranteed price period. Which is gobbledygook really.

I did this after British Gas had been appointed SoLR and I still got the messages saying my final bill would reflect the non direct debit rates. It makes little difference to me as my final bill will only reflect a short period. On the other hand if I left the direct debit in place I could end up being debited for some months whilst they sort out transfering accounts and credits. (My electricity was transfered from Neon Reef to British Gas in November and my account has still not been properly set up!)Xbigman said:.Anyone else thinking of cancelling their DD might well want to wait until the SoLR is appointed and they are officially no longer a customer.
