I've just had an email from BG "Here's your contract information."
The Electricity Tariff shown is flat rate, whereas I have an Economy7 meter and previously had Economy7 tariff info from them.
Added to that it says "Your estimated supply start dates: 10th February 2022"

Has anyone else had the same?
Would you take this to be spam? A mis-information auto-email? Or .... ?

Do you have a smart meter?
BG do not support E7 on smart meters apparently...

    I didn't know that, but no I don't have a smart meter.
    Thanks for the thought.

Yes, I have had exactly the same experience. I tried to contact British Gas to tell them of the mistake but discovered that it is another of those greedy outfits using Covid as an excuse not to employ sufficient human beings to speak with its customers, using the pandemic as an excuse. Currently, the only way to contact BG is via an online chat system, so what people without the Internet are expected to do, heaven knows.

The online chat person was of no help. As far as I could make out, we are supposed to contact them once the account is open, at which point they will correct the mistake, or so they claim.

British Gas looks like living down to its reputation. Well done Ofgem..

I’ve had the same email re 10th Feb estimated start date.

Mine says pay by cash or cheque (I always pay by DD) but in the blurb references a cheaper tariff on DD (which I understand) but it’s the same kWh and standing order price I was quoted for in the same email for cash/cheque.

I assume it’s just an error? Anyone else have this?

BG have done this with some (but not all) of their other SoLR customers, too. The tariff hass been the same for DD and cash/cheque.

I looked at the Welcome Together tariff on the BG website and the rates are the same whether you select DD or cash/cheque as the payment method.

Thanks. I’m supposed to be paying by direct debit so will just have to make sure they know that’s how I want to pay

I've had an email to submit meter readings, (thought I'd already done it, ??)
When I go into my account they don't show yet, which is significant because when you choose the option to set up a direct debit it won't do it until there's Meter readings on the account.

I've also checked today who my suppliers are listed as and BG have the electricity but not the Gas. Confusing!

    Only a slight step forwards!

I’ve submitted readings twice now and and they sent another request today via email and another via the app.
