My understanding is that you'd do best to set up the new DD with BG yourself, which you should be able to do through your account online.

We have not been given any figures to base it it on and I am certain I am in credit so would rather sort that out first.BG also say my tariff is called Together Energy something or other which ends March 2023.
    which was correct.

The tariff ends next year, but the price goes up next month...
You can already see those prices online:
The tariff used to say it was guaranteed until next year but they have recently changed that as they said it was a mistake...
This is the Eastern region pricing from 1st April...

You can set up the DD yourself, they do not seem to be transferring the DD over from TE, so just get it set up and go from there...

How can I set it up if I don't know how much they are charging ?

I have just received my first post-Bristol/Together bill from British Gas and it's complete nonsense. They have taken the meter readings I gave them, but completely ignored the fact that I'm on an Economy 7 tariff. When I've tried to call them to discuss this, they claim they are unable to take calls due to 'high call volumes' and their online chat robot doesn't seem to be working, either.

Just how is a customer supposed to communicate with this hopeless outfit?  Anyone else in a similar position?

You set up the DD, they will set the amount.
You can always call them and do it over the phone...

Just been on the phone with BG after only waiting 10mins.My initial bill reduced by £13 as they now have correct readings.Have been quoted a DD of £150,up from £75 with TE and they are sending me a mandate.Any credit from TE can take up to 12 weeks.
