When I go into my account they don't show yet, which is significant because when you choose the option to set up a direct debit it won't do it until there's Meter readings on the account.
I've also checked today who my suppliers are listed as and BG have the electricity but not the Gas. Confusing!
Only a slight step forwards!
Can I ask when you were able to open the account? I received contract and supply date emails about a week ago but nothing yet about a customer account number or online account being set up.

Update:
Another 2 weeks have passed and no movement on my BG account. The Meter readings I have submitted are not on the account (via website), and it appears that until that first set of readings is there I can't submit any.
I admit I've not been chasing this one - I pushed a lot harder last time I went through the SOLR process in order to switch to a cheaper tariff, but just now I'd only be switching for better customer service.Decluttering awards 2025: 🏅🏅🏅🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️, DH: 🏅🏅⭐️, DD1: 🏅 and one for Mum: 🏅0 -
BG seem to be extremely slow with account setup in the SoLR process, I found similar with NR SoLR. No excuse in my book, the process should be automated as it should be with any new customer. How long it takes to import detailed data from the previous supplier is a separate matter altogether. As you say, switching would only be for better customer service. I'm beginning to think SP were a lot better when the YE SoLR took place last year

I had a bad experience with SP as SoLR. So far BG are slow, but haven't yet got it horribly wrong...Phones4Chris said:BG seem to be extremely slow with account setup in the SoLR process, I found similar with NR SoLR. Still time for that of course.
I guess all the suppliers use different databases and it's non-trivial to import the data from one to another.Decluttering awards 2025: 🏅🏅🏅🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️, DH: 🏅🏅⭐️, DD1: 🏅 and one for Mum: 🏅0 -

@cslogg I cancelled the TE DD with my bank - they'd taken a payment the day before they went bust and I feel that a month later it is not reasonable to allow another DD payment to business which is no longer trading, especially as my account was in credit.
You've prompted me to check my BG account:
Today I have electricity readings but not Gas readings on the account, and can enter recent electricity, but not Gas.
Can't set up a new DD until both are on there it seems.

I was moved to BG on 24th Jan.Since then TO has taken a DD.I have now cancelled any more being taken. My BG account contains all my personal details and the name of my old TE tariff. No BG tariff or DD details though.I must also about £150 in credit with TE.No idea where that has gone.0

I have had several emails from BG telling me y account is set up.There is no DD details or monthly payment details just a request to pay £171 for which they say I am in debit .When TE collapsed I was £75 credit and they have since taken .another £77.I had a DD with TE and was under the impression that Its up to BG to set up another. Is this correct?0
