Hi everyone! Back online after a few days off screens - haven't you all been busy!
Happy to report that I'm at £120.18/£180 for my groceries so far with 8 days and a forecast £15 to spend - wahey! The stuff I got from the BBE shop is lasting well and I've been back to my local community pantry. It's so good that they get fresh stuff in there and I now know which days to go to get it.
Hope you are all staying dry and out of the wind x

Looking at what I have, particularly fruit and veg I maybe Ok until the end of the month.
The sad thing is the March budget will have to start 50.59p down.
Have a look at how and why you went over - it might have been an emergency or it might be that your budget is too low. Don't set yourself up to fail...
Another possibility is that @zafiro1984 is now well stocked up and can manage on a lower budget for March?

£8.60 in town, got my rail tickets for a planned 3-day break to Chester, my friend put on her c.c., I will pay for other stuff to balance out, got a hot water bottle for said trip as I have back spasms, hip, and knee pain, usually manage with wheat bags but, hottie will be easy to fill from room kettle if having any issues.
2 Sticks of black pudding, a weakness of mine, had parked in T0sc0 so looked in to see if any own brand elderflower tonic water, knew it was futile as only a small store, spotted young man marking down celeriac, marked to 54p, so had 2, when I got to the till asked for 60p, then realised it was price per kilo, so pleased with that.Do I need it or just want it.2 -
Had to get more bits at the weekend and made the mistake of going to a Chinese wholesaler. I love the gyoza they sell... oh well, there are several more meals in those bags and I would have eaten the rice and veggies anyway.
I'm under budget for the month so far, so I'm going to tighten up for March and challenge myself a bit more. Some days, it's just not worth chewing through the leather straps....

Well after asking hub for a nice dinner Saturday (based on ingredients we already had in) he dismissed the closed cup mushrooms in the fridge for a tasty mushroom risotto and spent £4 on some polish ones as well as 350g of pecorino and Gouda cheese from the cheese monger. It was delicious, but a part of me was frustrated. This has put us initially over budget by approx £8 and then yesterday he used ingredients meant for meals for lunches instead of having more basic things for lunch so approx £24 over now. I could argue that £20 this month was spent on 48 cans of tuna but I did expect to manage still. Never mind. That said, the cupboards are bare, lentils, oats, rice, olive oil, all are all used up, squash, potatoes, onions, milk, yogurt all very nearly gone and will maybe just make this week. We need a big top up! Hope everyone is staying safe! I walked the dog today and it genuinely took me 5 seconds to catch my breath the moment I walked outside it was so windy.Follow here for the daily life of an ADHD mum with 2 children and a new mortgage to pay

7 more days to the end of the month.
This weekend bought sweets, hummus, bread and fruit in Mr S. Also found myself eating out both Sat and Sunday, when there was food at home. Aware if I had bought a packed lunch with me I wouldn't have spent out, but hadn't organised myself.
Nothing spent today. Away in North Wales for weekend so trying not to spend until then. Working on staying within budget.

We had a takeaway on Friday but husband paid out of personal spends. We has 3 takeaways this month, so £60, so still under budget even if he hadn’t paid.
Had a pub lunch on Saturday and I went out with friends on Tuesday. they’re different budgets but it meant we’ve needed slightly fewer groceries.
Fridge and cupboards are bursting. Should last a whileDebt Jan 2017 = £42kMay 2022 = £15k4 -
£16.56 spent today in Mr S.
OH found a very large joint of beef for just over £10. He's cutting it into steaks and freezing them as it is much cheaper to do this than for him to buy steaks.
£116.45/£150.
£33.55 left.I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy2
