Reporting in on my first spends for Feb, they came in on the 'budget' I had in my head, but as this is the 'data gathering' month I am not really sure if our budget is too generous, ok or too tight. Looking at the receipts I spent approx. £59 over three shops (Lidl, Tesco, back to Lidl to get the thing I forgot the first time, oops - it's ok as shops right next to each other and it just helped me log extra walking steps, no car moving involved!). I did get one extra of a couple of things, so it was more than a standard sized shop, and so next week those things won't be needed. Anyway, the numbers are recorded in my book and receipts stored (I did analyse them a bit but will look again in comparison to future weeks prices etc). I won't shop again until next week, hold me to that please!
Thanks for reading and take care all.

Tried the Getir app where new customers get £8 off £13 spent, but fresh items available mostly expensive organic (less options for fresh budget) and so wouldn't use without the discount. Wasn't too happy with the quality of the grapes.

I've spent extra this week due to stocking up on tins and dry goods via the JS £1 delivery slot - 4 pack of orange juice, tinned tuna, coconut milk, pulses, stock cubes, big jars of marmite, cornflour, pasta, soy sauce, bisto, tinned ravioli and tomato soup for when I'm feeling really lazy. Saves me carrying it home and I have full cupboards now, so I'm quite pleased - £40.75 including delivery.
Another £22.59 from last Friday on the veg box, venison and milk (I've asked them to stop sending me kale, I just don't get through it) and £1 on yesterday's pain au choc (which I notice has gone up by 5p). Last Monday's pint of milk was 85p - but that's my own fault because I ran out and had to nip to the garage next door, they're nice in there, but they're not cheap. And I got bread and eggs (10 eggs, because I wanted the nice bread from the Polish shop, and they sell their eggs in 10s) on Tuesday for £3.58.
I make that 68.77 in total, so I have 50.89 left.

Total spend this week £27.68. Used a £10.00 Tesco voucher so it was really £37.68. Feeling that I might make it this month.
really annoyed with myself that I missed a really good offer on dishwasher tablets at Tescos. I bought some reduced from £11.00 to £9.00 but discovered to late that if I had bought 2 packs I could have got another £5.00 off. That would have been £22.00 worth for £13.00! Can’t believe how annoyed I am.😩.
Does anyone else find that by doing this challenge it impacts on all of their spending? I have spent so much less overall in the last 2 months and I have lost 3lb in weight this month too.craft stash 2023 =161, 2024 = 119 2025 = £25.96 spent, 128 made and 5 mended,

I have stores, groceries, DD & Subs and Pet expenses as my headings. My stores, groceries, DD & Subs are all in the Grocery Challenge.
Treats and Entertainment are not, and since we just got a puppy, Pet expenses are out at the minute, but might come in for food and cat litter (but not toys, bedding, toilet mats, vet subscriptions and so on). BTW I distinctly remember the baby phase now and the number of futile wasted purchases I made then (distinct Deja Vu with puppy!)Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

I have @Soontobeoap - and DW tabs is one of those things
I stopped buying named DW tabs after the last repair to our DW when the man said buy the value ones and add salt - so we have and it seems to have done the trick. A periodic rinse-aid top up and everything is sparkly and lovely. I paid £2.85 for 30 in Morries (who have just changed from a cardboard box of 40 for £4 in individually wrapped powder tabs) they are in a plastic zip top bag and covered in some sort of film now and look just like the last Finish ones I boughtSave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

I find it causes me to think differently about other things yes @Soontobeoap I quite like that about it.I too would have been upset at that miss of the DW tabs offer, i think I got that offer last month and haven’t opened the 2nd box yet (although I’m close!) but it works out a lot less per tablet than any other brand or dealFollow here for the daily life of an ADHD mum with 2 children and a new mortgage to pay
