You are very kind MMP 😊

Tesco delivery came it it was £43.16, we are now pretty much all basic items bar fruit and veg, we always didn’t really have brands but now it’s very rare. Tonight’s dinner is chicken tikka for 3x with pilau rice and Nan , shop bought not home made as it’s better than my homemade and fairly cheap at 35p per rice pouch and 80p for 2 x large Nan, plus frozen chicken and Tesco sauce, feels more like a takeaway if shop bought too😁 I’m trying tinned veggie curry, not that cheap but cheaper than a ready meal one, and I’m not keen on my homemade or even jar sauce ones.

Dh is at work this morning, hopefully will not be back too late. I’ve been looking at world cruises, does anyone else waste time daydreaming online about stuff they may not ever buy or do? 😆 Even when mortgage free I don’t know how dh could take the time off needed if before retirement (if I can even get him to retire!) I guess it’s cheap entertainment for a dull cold Saturday morning if nothing else 😆

    •  £423.39 /£500 Feb budget 😱

Er, not doing that well with that then 😂 am also trying to achieve each month :

    •  £25 to premium bonds
    • £300 to Xmas saver - no budget for this! but done in Jan and have £150 for Feb so far
    • An extra £72 pm from car costs being lowered to op’s - should knock an extra month of if possible 😬
    • Juggle and cheat my way to making planned mortgage payments of £396.18 normal payment + £1628 op plus the new extra £72pm from March wages. This equals 55% of all our total income including charging the kids for the pleasure of living with us 😆  when you look at it like that it feels like we could be doing way better! I guess though running a 4 bed house, cats and car with 5 plus often extras is dearer now than it used to be ☹️

Re dayreaming, mine has been, since I was 19, designing my dream house.  It has gone from being with central heating, to having so many solar panels & large batteries you wouldn't believe.  But the same basic daydream almost 60 years on.  I am nothing if not consistent/persistent.  Just need to win the lottery & definitely not £5.
  • Going back to your garage……… can you get the children and partners to help clear it, as in bring you the stuff out after checking for spiders first?
Then you make a decision what to do with it?

That's what I wanted to suggest, but didn't want to sound like I was being bossy again (happy to second someone else's suggestion though 🤣!) There are plenty of you in the house, maybe you don't need to be involved personally at all....🤔?

I wish! Dd has said she hasn’t got time so throw everything of hers she doesn’t want- I can’t! Ds1 is never here and would be pretty useless anyway, Dh is a nightmare and has transferred his loft rage he used to get to garage rage. My only hope is ds2 and DIl , she loves a good clear out and is great at selling and giving stuff away, she’s knee deep in doing her thesis now though so I’ll have to wait 😩

Right, so DD's husband can be roped in to deal with her bits and DS2 can help with the heavy lifting. Anything to be sold can be put in the log cabin until DIL can get to it. I didn't realise there were things belonging to the kids in there - start charging them a proportion of the monthly rent, I'm sure they'll suddenly realise it's a load of old rubbish that they should have got rid of years ago and coincidentally have got a Saturday free 😀😀😀

😆 dd’s hubby is not going to help I doubt, ds2 will I’m sure. The log cabin is 50% full of tools and Xmas stuff etc the other half is dhs work room (actual work he does with some specialist equipment in there) however I have got a key for an empty garage my dad owns nearby recently so I could, sort through and move some bootsale type stuff there 😬

One of the kids would rather help than pay (ds2) they others would probably rather pay than help though 😂 I did recently send an actual (well fake) invoice for £5 to ds1 after he left the kitchen in a mess all day , after many warnings first of course!

Does your DS1 use the same excuse as mine does for leaving empty stuff around.  But mum you want to know when something needs replacing because I've used it don't you.  I feel like throwing something whilst saying you know where the list is.  I mean it is only in the same place it has been for a good 20 years.  I am going to bear the invoice in mind - nice one.
