😆 oh dear! There’s a chain reaction if anyone leaves a mess here, person one leaves stuff in the way therefore persons 2 or 3 can’t clear their stuff as person ones stuff is “in the way”, DIL takes no prisoners though, she returned ds1’s dishes to his room when he left them in the kitchen 😂 I rarely see ds1 and he does his own cleaning and washing - as of course he should- so I can be a bit soft tidying up his cups sometimes 🙄MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁1

Not a great weekend to be honest, dh not in a great place and I think not coping with work stress which is not recognised as that but more being fed up with me. Tried to give him plenty of space, popped round my parents in the morning for a coffee, then dd asked me over to see them play a bit of the new famous wizarding game that’s just been released, I think the last game I played was probably on the Wii when they were all little so I’m no expert, but it looked very realistic 🙂
Due to dh getting more unhappy with the work situation, I’ve been wondering if there’s other options. Ideally he would want to work for himself doing the same thing but in a more streamlined way. We had hoped the option to rent part of a warehouse from my dad and his partner was still stood, but they don’t seem keen as are few cars there. Using our own factory unit (if it was empty) wouldn’t be wise as we would lose so much in rent and renting out part of it wouldn’t not be as desirable.I’ve been wondering if we could put a couple of large machines in the warehouse (it already has the correct electrics) whether we could squeeze smaller machines into the log cabin if the other half was used too 🤔 even if it could fit there would need to be way more storage space, and a large work bench area, I don’t know, but I feel like I should try and have a proper chat with dh about it.But had we rented the warehouse section from dad it would cost probably £10-12k or so plus all other costs like rates etc. I’m just wondering if I could persuade dh there was a way, maybe keeping the garage for storage over the road and perhaps using our box room too. I’m intending in working with him if he does leave, although work stuff combined with home stuff doesn’t appeal really, but if the savings are so massive it may be worth a look if possible. There don’t seem to be many restrictions on this, although perhaps there would be from the mortgage provider, although hopefully that will no matter in the near future!MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁3 -
It wouldn't just be your mortgage provider, it could possibly be mentioned in your deeds too. Although that is only normally a concern if you are getting visitors all day.

Oh ok I’ll have to check thanks, shouldn’t be any customers coming at all though, it’s more London companies we deliver to. Actually that’s a whole other expense too thinking about it, an electric vehicle 🤦🏼♀️On a similar note, I’ve just seem an official questionnaire about what Londoners feel about pay per mile to drive 😱 this rumour has been going around but it’s clearly on its way. I get it for very central London but we are miles out right on the border, seems so harsh, there’s just not the infrastructure yet further out to support it. My three friends I meet up with every few weeks are all cleaners/home helps mostly for the elderly and they charge the minimum amount already and are struggling as they don’t want to put their prices up when they are pensioners, how will they cope with this as well as everything else.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁5

Hope you and your DH find the answers you need. It is horrible being helpless while they navigate all of the issues. Time for a spending update, which is a little overdue!- £15.49 Lidl
- £3 £land
Total spend £441.88 /£500 for Feb
Personal spending is down to £13.69 from this months £100, soon to be topped up by £100 on half pay day this Monday thank goodness!I have saved a ton of money today though by booking a Tesco slot and checking out with one loaf of bread then forgetting to add to it by last night 😆 I’ve rung up and they have cancelled it but no more slots until next week.I have also bought a new coffee maker, not that we needed on but the pods have gone up a lot and you can only use their own brand. So courtesy of my Amazon voucher I got a small dulc@ gusto machine with lots of boxes of coffee for £51 (well free really 😬) and Lidl and Aldi do pods to fit. As we are mostly frothy coffee drinkers rather than black coffee drinkers the machine is the closest way to get to shop like coffees. I’m so happy as I was getting quite alarmed at the cost of the previous pods and had started making them an occasional treat. I can cut back on most things but when you are skimping on having coffee it’s a step too far 😂MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁5 -
Well a slightly more productive day yesterday, I couldn’t move off the sofa Saturday with stomace ache 😩 However Sunday dad and dh managed to fix the Aygo’s CD player, aerial and interior light 🥳 I need a car to do just two things- get me somewhere and play my favourite cd 😆 so all is well. Dad also topped up the petrol which is amazing so I’ve reset the trip, it was £43 for about 2/3 or maybe 3/4 of a tank. Then dh and I popped to Aldi to get something for us all for dinner and we got two large baskets and he said he will pay for it all (from his personal spends he doesn’t really spend) whch has helped massively, although without a plan and list it was a bit of a supermarket sweep style shop! So altogether that’s really helped stretch the money left this month. The we went to the garage for our second clearing trip of the month, little and often is my plan to keep tempers from fraying 😂 took lots to the tip of mouldy stuff and took loads of dds junk via her flat and she went through a couple of boxes and took some stuff back, then we went to the tip on the way home to check the rest of the again mouldy toot. I’ve got a few bits in the boot to sort through today , old figures still in boxes ds1 used to collect so I’ll see if I can eBay them perhaps, otherwise it will be bootsale in spring. I now feel a little better having done at least something towards it.It’s part payday today, so although not mortgage op time, I can do some money shuffling.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁3

Loads of positives there NG! Cheap car to run, some minor fixes to improve quality of life, DH doing the top up shop and progress on the garage, whoop! That sounds like a very productive weekend!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Thanks Vix 😁 I only went back to the garage yesterday! Stopped to collect something with dil and she had a quick rummage and I took another load of ds1 and dd’s stuff. She’s too busy with uni at the moment as I’d beg her to help until it’s done 😬
I’ve already listed a bag and some Lego on fleabay! Still have a mountain of dds old clothes to go through she doesn’t want, all cheap worn out stuff though as she never used to spend any money on clothes, so probably more for recycling, but dil is having a look first as they are the same size.I’ve had a look and need to give one months notice to the council, but it says I pay in advance but it’s weekly so I’ve no idea of I’ve paid a week or a month upfront yet, next payment is March 1st and dh is working this weekend , then the next one is my birthday so maybe one more payment and I can hope it’s cleared!!!!MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁4
