Thank you Queen of the hive 🙂
No clearing the garden done yesterday, it was cold and wet. Instead I took dil to collect her car from dd’s as she was there the night before and drank, then dh needed some work bits that were in the shed so I drove those over to the factory for him which took forever, no traffic it’s probably 15mins but a Saturday lunchtime 😩
Then round then In-laws in the evening, we should go more often really as they are elderly and he’s struggling to walk now (won’t use anything to assist) they were fine, but we have always had to keep a bit of a distance in many ways due to how they can be. I have again suggested they move closer to us and buy something like a retirement flat, but to be honest I’m not sure how I would find that, it looks like they won’t though!Today we have the day free, dh suggested the cinema and maybe clear some bits from the garage, I am hoping that we can spend the whole day there through and get all of as much as we can done, dad just gave up the garage next door and said it’s one months notice and the dd’s due on the 1st March, so I could give notice tomorrow if it’s going well.I think this won’t go down well with dh who is tired, so I’ll just suggest we go early and hope we get stuck in 😆MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁5 -
Dh went off to work at 5am (finishing private work) and woke me up 😩 however all is forgiven as yesterday we COMPLETELY CLEARED THE GARAGE!! 🥳🍾 it was a pig of a job and lots of it is now covering the whole of the downstairs, but it’s done. I feel like doing an Oscar’s style speech thanking all those who pushed me to get it done - Southcoast 😁
This week will be spent mostly trying to sort through, store and list for sale stuff. I’ve got about four bag for life’s of charity shop items to drop off today, decided against the bootsale as it wasn’t a vast amount in the end that would be suitable. So much was rusty or mouldy ☹️ I also need to try and speak to the council and get down there (if I can park) and cancel and return the keys. Then it’s to the post office to drop a bag and some Lego I sold on fleabay, sadly only for a few pounds each. Can’t even count how many trips to the tip we made, which on a Sunday trying to park at all the different sections was mayhem, then a guy asked for an iPad I was chucking in the electronic recycling bit, but I said no (was broken but I guess still full of all my personal stuff and photos) I said no sorry it’s broken, he wanted it anyway so I said sorry no, he huffed and shook his head and walked off. I don’t know much about tech but I felt it might not be a good idea.
To celebrate I ordered a second hand with labels on Joanie dress from Vinted, it’s a bit crazy, I asked best friend if I should order it and she said as my friend she had to say no 😂 however ds2 has assured me it’s cool, although he has some rather far out ideas clothes wise!MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁8 -

Thanks guys 😊 I didn’t manage to list anything yet on eBay sadly, however virtually everything has now been taken to the charity shop next to where ds2 works, tipped , or put by ready for eBay.The garage payment has been spent already 😂 I’m paying for the dress and bought some food at Tesco yesterday (about £38).I can use the cc from tomorrow hooray! So far I’ve dipped into other pots this year, but not this time as I’m determined to do better. I’m going to carry on with my Lidl shopping i felt it was a waste to drive there and not use my free delivery pass for Tesco, but I think that might not be the best idea, surely Lidl has to be cheaper?! I don’t know, I do usually buy value at Tesco, perhaps I’ll do one weekly Tesco £40 delivery and one top up at Lidl.Aims for March:
- Overpay by the required £1700 to stay on track with the 33 month challenge
- Pay £25 to premium bonds
- Sell the big car and for at least the £2k I borrowed from the offset 😱
- Clean up back and front garden for spring
- Actually lose some weight - this has stopped 🙄
- Start looking after myself a bit more health and beauty wise (on a shoestring obviously!)
I shall continue to post my efforts on this, although t may become a bit dull 😆MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁6
