Hi thanks Vix, I guess I could grow from seed, ds2 had a big crop of chillis last year 🙂
Hi lady with a plan, that makes sense, although if im out and there’s pizza on the menu I have to have it even though it’s so easy to have at home 😆
Next-door but one and two decided to let their warring dogs out both at 5.05am today so they could bark loudly through the fence at each other 😩 not for long, but I’m awake. When we had a dog she never went out that early, it’s so inconsiderate and if the dog is desperate for the loo then nip out the front! No plans for today, dh will probably be working tomorrow ☹️ dd is at a loose end as her dh is away on business for a week so I might see her over the weekend. Looks like ds1’s flat is close to exchange soon, they could be moving out in the next month or so. Im not sure what to do with his bedroom yet, we will have two spare rooms which after having such a house full seems weird. Ds 2 and wife are having the smaller spare room to overflow into, the other room is the main original front bedroom so a good size. I don’t think any of them will stay over as dd is looking at houses very near us now, but ds1 says we should have a spare bed 😆 Whatever we do with it we will need to source some furniture if he takes what’s already in there which I’ve told told him too.Might make some flatbreads later, I bought lots of houmous and only one pack of pittas which has gone, homemade is way better anyway! Plus I’ll do spag Bol for dh and ds1 tonight if he’s in, girlfriend is in Leeds visiting mum for Mother’s Day this weekend. Not sure what to do for my mum, probably just pop round for coffee and take her present.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁2 -

I winced a bit at the barking dogs at around 5.00 AM as WattyDog often does that but then I remembered it is a rural area, I keep farming hours and he does bark as "something" usually and nearest neighbour sleeps at the front, and other nearest neighbour adores him and he barks to let her know he is "up and about" in case she would like to pop around with that delicious chicken she cooks for him and her cats. I feel the barking is ok under all these circumstancesMade it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!4 -

Hi watty, sorry to make you wince 😬 we had a dog for many years who was prone to the odd bark too, it’s just these two neighbours have dogs that are going for each other aggressively through the fences every time they get let out 😩 watty dog must be a sweetheart if the neighbour is bringing him chicken 😊
Taking dd to the shops to return dh’s birthday gift today and using up my free coffee vouchers and I’ve asked her to the cinema tomorrow too. Time to take off the heart monitor today, well late this afternoon but I’m taking it off the morning as its been a week and it needs posting back and it shuts at lunchtime, then a nice long bath later as I could only have showers for a week, hooray!MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁6 -
Well after a month wait I finally saw the doctor who basically said it’s anxiety more than menopause and has started me on medication, still waiting for the heart monitor results they should be later this week but I guess if they are call clear she’s probably right! I think I need to press on an be a bit more proactive in doing things that help, like exercise, relaxation and eating better.I also could do with spending some time and possibly some money sorting the house out or at least planning what we might do when mortgage free, there’s a backlog of things that need doing , everywhere needs decorating and it would be nice to design and plan for some new spaces. Probably ds1’s bedroom when he moves out is the best place to start.Another couple of of items sold on vinted and the total is now £324.25 🙂 it’s quite a slow process though and things are being reduced over and over until sometimes they are hardly worth the effort 😆 what doesn’t sell once it gets to,£1.50 odd I shall start donating. It’s weird what sells and what doesn’t often though.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁5

I have some mortgage related news for a change 😆 dh has very shockingly sent over money to put towards the mortgage from the business for I think the first time ever 😱 He’s been working a lot over overtime doing private jobs (against my wishes that’s for sure) and has built up both a cushion and some extra, so he’s sent £5k of which £300 is for the cruise deposit we booked this week for sept 2025, with the remaining £4700 going in the offset! This now takes us to just under £30K 🥳
It’s going to knock 2 whole months off taking us to April 2025 and chips away a little at March, he says he’s trying to make enough extra to clear it by feb so it’s done a couple of days before my 50th, which would take around another £3700.He’s slowly giving his private work over to the company he works for to try and reduce the amount, I would rather he just stopped but he’s not so keen just yet, I hope this attitude changes when we are mortgage free though as there’s no point in all this mf business if he’s not at home to enjoy it 😬MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁10 -

Brilliant - from a man who thought you were wasting your time as the mortgage would never be paid off, fabulous!

😂 Indeed daisy!Last night ds2 and I took my dad to the cinema to see Oppenheimer (2nd time for me, 4th for ds2 😆) which I think he enjoyed, I’m always offering to take both him and mum but they never say yes so that was nice.Yesterday I finally finished a bed runner I was knitting with some lovely pale blue wool my aunt gave me, I can only knit in straight lines so that was the only option really aside from the worlds longest scarf 😆 its now sitting on my bed looking rather good if do say so myself. The kit she gave me had a pattern enclosed and I googled the make and it cost £100 😱 I shan’t be buying more of that, it’s been years since I bought wool, it’s lovely but wow expensive now.I need to find another craft project to start, I’ve got a cross stitch I haven’t touched for years but that takes a lot more concentration and good light so I’m not sure I shall have to dig it out, I’m sure I might have bought a wearable light for it though years ago.Credit card grocery spending is running away with me too early in the month as usual, I’ve bought 6 Easter eggs so far, still another 5 to go! Usually I buy the cheaper £1.50 type ones but this year I wanted to get some a little better if I can, got a couple of smartie under the sea ones in Lidl yesterday which were cute. Spending so far £375.10/ £550 so £174.90 left until 1st April so it may have to be more cheaper eggs after all for some 😆MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁5

What a great OP!!DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.
