  • Afternoon, another day at home pottering. I have listed a few items on vinted and caught up with some surveys.
Made a pie although i'm not sure it will feed five of us, need to make some scones and take out some fruit from the freezer for overnight oats.

  • Morning all.

So this week has been a bit of a whirlwind, work has been good and feeling quite positive at the moment. Hopefully this will continue and i can get to the summer hols on a high and enjoy the time off.
Got through the week with 2 small grocery spend spent £2 in lidl at the beginning of the week and also got a free baguette which did mine and DD lunches for 2 days with egg filling so nice and frugaI. Small shop on Friday £3.50 to see me through the weekend as i am home alone, DD went to her BF on Friday and DH and DS are away together at a sporting event down south so i'm eating from stores.
Redeemed £10 cash and a £5 amazon voucher from survey sites and sold an item on vinted for £3 just waiting for that to clear into account.

A negative this week is that a family member has sadly passed away, she was a good age and it was quick at the end, but she was such a lovely lady and will leave a big gap in lots of peoples lives.

    Hope everyone is ok xx

Sorry to hear about the family member. Always sad whatever the age. Glad you have some positives though 🙂
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)
  • Thanks Debtfree and Sun addict.

Another busy week at work, 4 weeks until the summer hols.

End of the month slump and counting down to pay day, still trying to eat out of stores and the freezer is starting to look quite empty, spent £27 this week on a food shop. I put £20 fuel into car on Friday and havn't been anywhere all weekend, i hope this lasts me until Thursday (pay day).
Really trying to not be wasteful and eek everything out, split a large pack of mince in 2, made bolognaise with lots of veggies for spag bol on Friday and the other half used in tacos last night, also made sausage rolls with some whoopsed sausage meat. picked raspberries and strawberries from the garden which i will use in overnight oats for breakfast.
Little bits of money have landed in bank account this week so have made a £23 over payment to CC2.
Tenants have given notice on the cottage, so will be without rent for a couple of months, agents have already got potential tenants lined up, but we will need to tighten belts even more.

Super busy but things are good thanks x
  • Hello all, seems like an age since i last posted, i'm going to update in bullet points.

    * Finished work for the summer :), to say i was exhausted was an understatement, thanks to team members getting covid it was all a little manic but couldn't be helped, but we worked together and got to the end.
    * New tenant is in the cottage, there is a crazy shortage of housing in the area and it was so hard to choose someone as i felt guilty to those i said no to.
    * DH and I had our first summer break away, DD/DS managed to not burn the house down, we had a fab time and feel refreshed. Probably spent too much on eating out and in the pub but ha ho.
    * Spending has been a bit crazy last few weeks, grocery shopping is just horrid  :s and it just seems to be going up and up. I have increased grocery budget to £600 and Fuel budget to £120, will it ever end!
*Mr M is bringing a grocery shop today, looking to be around £160  :/.

    Hope everyone is ok xx
  • Hope you are taking it easy and resting during the summer x
