Hello all and happy May.
Gosh busy few days, works been bonkers and spent yesterday cleaning and food shopping.
Had payday on Friday and did money shuffles (see above post), mortgage is now down to 10yrs 11 mths, very exciting to go down a year. Yesterday i also sent normal payment to CC2 and an overpayment of £70. Surveys caught up on and redeemed £25 won't land in my account until end of month though. sold an item on ebay only made £2 but better than nothing and will send to CC2 when it hits account. Lidl and sainsbury shop yesterday came to a total of £82, hit the £200 at lidl so have a £10 voucher to spend later in the week on a top up shop.
Hope everyone is enjoying the long weekend xx1 -
Morning.
Lazy day for most of the day today, have walked dogs and put a wash on, now chilling with the dogs whilst having a coffee. Have dog agility later for little doggo just a taster session to see if she likes it.
Found a piece of pork in the freezer, so have put that in the slow cooker and will have BBQ pulled pork in buns for tea.
Paid the balance of holiday no1 which is due next week but thought i'd just get it paid, hol no2 balance is due the middle of June.
Work is niggling at me and feel demotivated at the minute, 3 courses in the next 6 weeks all over 1hour away, another course in house but is 2 hours of something i do everyday and feel like its a box ticking exercise. Then i have to go to a meeting for something i have already been told i most probably won't be involved in but go anyway just in case🤬. I want out of working in education I love the children and have some great work friends but hate the politics, the moving of goal posts and box ticking, I need to use this to motivate me to pay the mortgage off.
Sorry ranty post.1 -
Evening
Up and down sort of day, my mood has been off today, issues with DH, work and just overthinking life and what ifs.
Dog agility was brilliant and really lifted my mood, baby doggo had such a good time going to speak to instructor about a regular class for her, it will mean spending money but i really enjoyed it,good excercise and its not expensive.
Sold an item for DH on ebay, £11 to go off mortgage once it clears into account.
Need to go and sort work clothes out, shower, make overnight oats and pack ebay item ready for posting tomorrow.5 -

Hope you're feeling better and you can work through the issues at school and family, chatting to a lot of people on both my jobs and generally a feeling of feeling flat and unmotivated.
Glad doggie classes are good and hope you both continue to enjoy them.
Hope you're having a good rest of the week, H x1 -
Afternoon all
Well this week has not been money saving at all, lots of little unneeded spends that once i go through the bank account will add up, Peach gin,Red wine, fluffy blanket, dog treats, cream cakes, chocolate, seems to be lots of comfort items which might be a reflection of where my head is at the moment. Also spent £85 on groceries and i did a shop without a list or meal plan (very unlike me)so i know that was a disaster, £30 also on fuel. Need to get my head back in the game and my ar** back in gear.2 -

Afternoon all sorry i have been missing, the last 10 days have been disastrous regarding money, ended up doing another grocery shop after the one where i didn't take a list we ran out of toilet roll, washing powder and other essentials and i spent another £25, the washing machine gave up and couldn't be fixed so a new one bought, Ds decided he wanted to go to Prom after all, so i have spent £300 on ticket, suit and new shoes, then my car was hit and damaged on a side street whilst parked and no note left and no CCTV, car has been fixed but i'm waiting for the bill from the garage which they will email to me tomorrow (local country garage so very laid back) they thought it would be around £200, its less than the excess on the insurance so just going to pay it. I put DS suit on CC1 which had a 0 balance as statements run from the 5th of the month and won't show until next months statement so i will have a few weeks to pay it off interest free without having to touch savings, DH paid for the washing machine and i have managed to cut back and scrape the money together for the car as long as it isn't over £200., if it is i will take from savings.
Head is not in a good place from all the stress and i'm just having to take everyday one day at a time, everything feels like too much, trying to be kind to myself but finding it hard when there is so much to do and so much going on in RL with family, work, home etc. I've decided half term week i am doing nothing but pottering around at home and at least getting on top of the housework. Today i went to the local garden centre and spent £25 on some bedding plants and strawberry plants, i have spent a couple of hours in the garden which felt good, i shouldn't have spent the money it should have been sent to the CC but it's done now and i enjoy sitting outside and looking at the flowers, makes me feel calmer.
hope everyone is enjoying the weekend sun xx2 -
Oh what a palaver 😩 These things happen unfortunately. Glad you’re finding some enjoyment in your garden. Keep plodding.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2

HI @pennywisepoundstupid, sorry to hear about your car & the unexpected spend on the prom. Hope your son had a good time though and made memories
I haven't read the rest of your diary but I so get you with the unexpected spends and feeling meah about it all. Paying back debt at times is just the pits. I used to be a very tight wad with my ex H, but my new partner is a lot more on the opposite vein and I have come to be a bit more in the middle. Tight where needed but also sometimes you just need to spend a little to live so don't be hard on yourself for those times. Enjoy the flowers and strawberry plants. I too spent £25 on plants yesterday but they are my little happy place thing to do so enjoy them. I actually bought some strawberry plants 3 years ago and they are still going strong and fighting fit.2025 financial goals & challenges!
