Love fresh paint. Glad the car bill wasn’t too huge.

  • Morning all.
Me and DD decided as it was just the 2 of us last night we would go out for tea and have some girly time together, so DD booked our favourite restaurant in town, got there and it was busyish but not packed, waited a while to be seated and waitress took our drinks order straight away which was good, just ordered a bottle of wine for the 2 of us so pretty straight forward, waited and waited nobody came near our table, tried to catch the waitress a couple of times and was ignored, 30 mins later still no bottle of wine and nobody had come to take our food order, so we decided to get up and leave, as we were leaving the manager stopped me and asked if everything was ok, i said not really and explained we had waited 30 mins and no drinks and no one had come near to take our food order, he just shrugged and said we are busy. So we ended up going to a new restaurant down the street that was really busy but they found us a table after a little wait which wasn't a problem we sat at the bar and had a drink and then had a fantastic meal, excellent service and will be going back for my birthday. First restaurant have lost our custom now I can't believe that the manager didn't even apologise, you would think in the current climate they would be trying to keep customers.

Not a huge amount planned for today, lidl shop, take DD to pick up her car from town. Potter at home and get some jobs done.

    Have a great day xx

Put a complaint on their social media pages if they have them…that tends to make the managers manager sit up and take notice. I did this for a bad meal we had and was contacted straight away, they did apologise and say they were looking into it, but didn’t offer me any reasons to go back, which was a shame. A free drink, or even a promise that all the issues had been sorted would have gone a long way to encourage us to try again.

What a shame about the first restaurant, poor custmer service from the Manager!

Hope you have a lovely weekend, H x
  • Morning all, 1 day to go until i can open my Easter egg,it was calling my name yesterday everytime i walked through the dining room but i remained strong  :D.

So yesterday i went through finances, still got rent money to come in Tuesday but everything is ok just tight, need to knuckle back down after a spendy week although me and DH are going out next weekend for my birthday (budgeted for) but DD is cooking a family meal on my actual birthday and making me a cake. Went to mrL yesterday and spent £53 got a free bakery item and i've also hit the £2 voucher which i will use on milk and bread later in the week. I have listed a couple of bits on ebay so fingers crossed they sell will only be a few pounds but better paid off the CC than sat in a drawer.

DS has been offered apprenticeship that he had the interview for, he just heeds to get his alevel grades now, can't believe he leaves sixth form in 6 weeks and then that's it for school, although i will not miss having to sit through a parents evening again also no more paying for school dinners  :). DD has been told her new placement from uni and i pass right by it every day depending on her hours i might be able to drop and pick her up which will save her fuel money.

Going to potter at home today and avoid going anywhere, i am in north lancs and all roads lead to the Lake district so no doubt there will be traffic everywhere. House needs cleaning, more washing and sort a meal plan for the week out.

    Hope all is well xx

  • Afternoon, hope everyone is enjoying the Easter weekend and have had some sunshine.

Yesterday was spent outside tidying the garden and i also have dog training, it was a lovely sunny day all day and was nice to get some free vit D.

Today i went to the local garden centre with DH as he wanted to get me something for my birthday, he has been mentioning it for weeks and i just couldn't think of anything i needed or wanted, came to me yesterday that i would like some new hanging baskets and pots, so they have been bought today , i will be able to enjoy the flowers all summer long which is better than a bouquet of flowers which usually only last a week.

Finances are ticking along, cottage rent in tomorrow and will be divid up, also back to work tomorrow so need to get back into making lunches, will probably have a roast chicken salad as we are having a roast for tea.I have spent some amazon vouchers on dog treats and  I have ordered 2 pairs of sandals although i'm not sure about 1 pair as they have a small heel and i am starting with arthritis in my ankle so not sure if i will manage a day walking around in them, will send them back if they are not right.

It is a great present, will last all summer as you say.

I never thought I’d be a flat heels person until I broke both sides of my ankle 5 years ago. I’ve found it really difficult to wear heels since.
