  •  Thanks huggle and SA,feeling much brighter today but stilla bit achy/tired. I havn't been anywhere since Tuesday and have been doing LFT everyday which are negative, fingers crossed that continues over the weekend and i can get back to work Monday.
Yesterday was a beautiful day i sat out in the garden and planted some seeds, it was lovely to get some fresh air and feel the sunshine on my back, looking as though the weekend is going to be lovely so lots of washing out on the line.

DH did the grocery shop yesterday afternoon,he spent £63 in Lidl and couldn't get everything, he said there was huge spaces where things were missing, couldn't get custard, caster or icing sugar, only had branded loo roll no own brand and there was a few other bits missing. So he had to go B00ths and spent another £20, budget was £80 for this week and we are over and will need a top up shop for milk and fresh bits, DH hadn't bought anything that wasn't on the list just had to pay more for things we couldn't get in lidl, maybe this is how its going to be for the time being.

Plans for today is pottering, need to do some baking thinking choc brownie and a lemon cake, have taken some rhubarb out of the freezer for a crumble and need to make fish pie which we will have with some brocolli, Must take chicken out of freezer for tomorrows tea.

Finances are at the mid month slump, rent will be in Monday and a money shuffle will be done, have a few surveys to catch up on but nothing is near payout so don't think there will be anything extra to throw at CC2.

DS 18th next month he has asked for 2 new tyres on his car :D, this will be around £150.we always make sure that both children have the same amount of money spent on them and as DD got a new laptop for her 18th we have said we will also give him money towards his holiday this summer, Ds was laughing about asking for car tyres and said its not much fun being an adult.

    Have a great weekend xx

  • Morning and it looks like another glorious day, washing is on the line and 2nd load is in the washing machine. Chickens have been cleaned, fed and watered, wish i could let them out into their garden they are happy enough in their covered run as it is a huge space for just 7 of them but i know they would love to be scratching in the grass looking for bugs.

Had a quick check of finances, all looking ok and have sent £10 to savings. Need to put some money on DS lunch account.

Made a banana and walnut cake and a lemon cake yesterday, DS has requested choc brownie for pud tonight so need to make that, some veggies need using up so will throw a soup together.

LFT again this morning which is still negative so back to work tomorrow but still feel off.

    Have a lovely Sunday x

  • Morning all.

Well i went back to work even though i wasn't 100% but was negative for covid, dragged my exhausted !!!!!! through the week and then tested positive at the weekend along with half the class, feeling utterly rubbish but does mean i have 3 weeks off work as we break up Friday, hopefully this will give me enough time to get better, recharge and be ready for the crazy summer term.

So the weekend was a right off, i did a massive food shop on Friday evening ready for Mother's day as we had family coming over and dd was cooking a 3 course meal, which had to be cancelled due to me testing positive on Sunday morning. Some bits have gone in the freezer but we have a mountain of cream, cheeses, salad bits, potatoes and veg to use up and i really don't feel like cooking. Yesterday i threw a beef casserole in the slow cooker which used up some leeks, carrots and potatoes, Today we are having chicken salad wraps and wedges.

Don't even know where i am with finances, I know everything has been paid and there is money left in account which i need to divvy between pots, but my brain isn't working, Also paid out £45 for next set of dog training.

    Have a good day xx

Sorry to hear you’ve been poorly. You’ve done so well to swerve it for so long. Hope you are on the mend soon.

Not sure if you know, but you can make butter with double cream, then freeze the butter. A few years ago Waitrose were selling double cream at 10p a pot after Christmas and I made enough butter for a few months.

Hope you feel better soon. This latest batch of Covid seems to be getting everyone.

  • Morning all, still snotty and positive  :(.

Thanks for the butter idea Nonna, we used some of the cream last night with a fruit crumble i pulled out of the freezer and will use some more today in a quiche, the other tub has a use by date of 5th april so will make some scones at the weekend and use it up.

Not much happening moneywise its payday tomorrow so will do a money shuffle, netflix have sent me an email informing me their prices are going up again. Temperature has dropped here and its raining so heating came on this morning, its only on for an hour but still annoying i want warm sunny weather so i can turn it off and also so i don't need to use the TD and can peg out. Woodburner has been lit and washing can go on the airer. At least i havn't had to put any fuel in the car this week.
DD has gone off to lidl, we are low on teabags, milk and antibac spray I wonder what other goodies will appear.

    Have a great day xx
