Thank you for adding me @Brambling, my aim is to start by making my 11,000 steps every day in 2022 and adding in some combat workouts twice a week.
i got yesterdays steps even though it took me a few hours to convince myself i wanted to go for a walk.

Could I join again please? I need to lose a stone to be "surgery ready". Given that I haven't seen the consultant yet I would like to set this quarter target at 7 lbs.
@CRANKY40 I was astounded at how motivating having my knee replacement surgery delayed was for me a couple of years back.
It's a viscious circle - can't walk due to bad knee, can't have surgery due to weight, can't lose weight as can't walk....I had 2 weeks to lose 10 pounds and managed it through cutting out almost everything except lean meat & vegetables. Hopefully you won't get pushed to that!

Good afternoon good people. I weighed myself this morning and it wasn't pretty. I'm just having a sit down as wrestling the christmas tree box back into it's cupboard has nearly killed me and I haven't put the rest of the stuff back that it usually lives behind yet. My back was giving warning twinges that seemed to say "one more bend down and you've had it" and I can't afford to be immobile just now so here I am wittering on here instead.
I have to start the healthy eating slowly, like running an engine in so todays menu (day one) is
Breakfast - cornflakes with skimmed milk Lunch - egg and bacon toastie (small wholemeal bread) Dinner - hash browns, low fat sausages, beans and mushrooms - if I'm really hungry I'll add a dry fried egg & spinach Supper - crackers and cheese but only 2 crackers worth
I did contemplate getting rid of the cheese that is going with the crackers but I don't have much dairy so I figured that using it up a little bit at a time would be ok. I've also had a multi vitamin tablet in a surprising shade of lilac as I forgot to order the ones that the doctor prescribed when I ordered the repeat stuff last month.
I hope that you all managed a fairly decent Christmas 😊
Walked 2.5 miles today in addition to 4 yesterday. Yesterday was pure pleasure, today included an olio and other collection. I got home ten minutes before the heavens opened!
I’ve another walk planned by the river tomorrow and then work restarts on Tuesday. My mission is to keep motivated when work stress creeps back in. It’s daft really - I work for myself and from home so in some ways the work really shouldn’t be stressful.
But I am client facing and hate the thought of letting anyone down, so put a lot of pressure on myself to be everything I can to each of my clients. I’d like to find a way of easing off on that as that would make the rest of my life a lot less difficult. There would be less comfort eating and end of day drinking for one thing!

I haven’t weighed myself yet, but like @CRANKY40, had some cheese to finish off as well as some Christmas pudding. Also, I normally WI on a Monday and will do that tomorrow for a sense of continuity for the rest of the year. It won’t be pretty though and I’m not looking forward to it!

Mary, Cranky just remember new year new start, line has been drawn under 2021. At lease you have braved the scales I haven't since before Christmas I'll WI Wednesday and start from there.
We wouldn't talk about cheese I still have far too much in my fridge I think what can freeze may have to take a holiday in the freezer for a while
have a good week everyone I think I need to organise my thoughts and start walking again you walkers are shaming me 🙂 once I start back to work on Tuesday (still WFH) I plan to stretch my legs lunchtime, if I prep lunch the night before like I do when I work in the office there are no excuses not to walk and grab lunch when I get back

12st169lb/76.5kg to 10.7st/150lb/68kg So I braved the scale this morning and my worst fears were confirmed, as I normally walk a lot over Christmas and was unable to this year - i have gained about a stone back of the two I lost in 2020. I am sure I am the first person in the world this has happened to. So my target is to lose 1.3 stone overall. I am only about 4 lb over my 'green' BMI so not a disaster, but just not good, and due to autoimmune things added weight is added risk. That is my motivation. @Brambling can I please set my target to 8lb this quarter. Thanks for running the challenge.
1.3st/18lb those are scary numbers, I'm a kg girl, but will do the challenge in imperial lb this time.
For people above just weighing in and paying attention to what one eats(!) and is a great place to start. I can't set lofty goals, but I can sometimes be persistent over time.

@ditty1234, I am a kilo girl too, but am doing it in lbs this time.. Good luck on your weight loss, you can do it!
I too braved the scales this morning, and I have put on the 8lbs I lost last quarters. Bad, but not as bad as I feared as I’ve done very little activity (flare up of my plantar fasciitis + being on hols) and have eaten and drunk anything I wanted, and more, since mid December.
It feels good to be back on the diet from today. I have renewed enthusiasm and determination, and my DD is trying to lose weight after having a baby so we can support each other too.
