Morning All,
Sue Well done for the loss.
I got up yesterday ready and prepared to see just how bad my weight is, pulled the scales out and... nothing! It seems that the battery has died in the many months they've been sitting idle
I'm not sure if they were trying to tell me something but, as my normal weigh in day is a Monday, I'll pick up a battery when I go shopping and start after the weekend. I may even manage to stop picking at the mountain of leftover cheese by then
Best of luck everyone xx4 -
Hi all - hope you had a good day. I know its late but im trying to discipline myself to post food daily which should hold me accountable .🤞 Especially as you are all doing so well.
@marrob - Im following whatever you tell me 7 stone!!! I need a definite two and a half and could really go for 3.
@Suffolksue - well done. My weigh in is Monday and I am hoping I'll lose some of the Christmas weight that I piled on.
@EskarinaWeatherwax - I agree walking with someone is such a help and I don't have anyone like that at the moment so I think my target will have to be steps. Ive been slack this week but at least if I get on top of the diet this week, I can improve on the exercise next week.
Anyway food was:-
B a banana
L. small wrap ((91 cal) with lightest laughing cow and lots of salad
D. frittata made with frozen mixed veg, served with 1 sausage and broccoli and an apple to finish

I'm officially free to go out. Using the time from now until Tuesday (first weigh in) to make cut backs until I see what the holiday damage is, next holiday is Mid April so this is my next goal.
Not been to shops yet, will do this to stock up on things I need to get back onto healthy eating. Must admit I have been struggling to get back into the swing of things.
In an attempt to get myself sorted I made a big jug of lemon water for the fridge, I brought back a couple of huge lemons from holiday, the quality from shop bought here and what I bough on holiday (even unwaxed organic) are unbelievable, will be sad when they are gone.... especially as the water may flush out the duty free!
I now also have to face a scabby bowl of easy peelers in the fruit bowl (sains. delivery), last couple of days before coming home the local supermarket brought in a huge pile of local grown oranges nothing like anything you could buy here, I grabbed a couple as they appeared to nearly all vanish in about 24 hrs, only saw them once in 3 weeks. Didn't get around to eating them so they got shoved in the hand luggage for the plane.... anyway just eaten one and I have now been spoilt for life, it was amazing (I probably sound a bit crackers, lol) it's given me a bit of a kick for eating better.
Now just need to figure out how to bring home a few stone in local oranges and lemons for next trip.
Hope everyone else is doing well.

@marrob - I'm going to add a wow for the 7 stone! I'd love to know what couple of things you did to achieve that - we can all use a bit of inspiration, but me especially.

Thank you, but I don't claim to be the dieting guru!
I had a health warning four years ago which made to decide to finally to something about my weight. I've been on a diet most of my life, losing x stone and putting back y stone, increasing all of the time, like many of you on this thread.
The biggest thing I did - and the hardest - was to give up sugar. I now don't eat anything like chocolate, biscuits, sweets, cake, etc, except only very occasionally. I had some mince pies, christmas pud and christmas cake at christmas, but only a little bit, and I enjoyed them.. That'll be it until probably next Christmas. I have to say that I really don't miss them at all now.
The second thing I did was to cut the "diet" drinks that I used to consume a lot of. That was very hard to start with as they are very, very addictive. The sweetener in diet drinks works against anyone trying to lose weight, and I feel so much better without them.
The third thing I did was to give up alcohol. i now only very rarely drink, again I don't miss it at all now.
I tell myself that I'm not on a "diet", just eating healthier now, that seems to help as well.
I've bought a treadmill and go on it every day for at least 30 minutes and do strength exercises as well. I used to hate exercise but it seems to lift my mood and makes me feel better.
I'm not immune to temptation, though, and the reason for joining this thread is that last year my weight plateaued and I lost only a few pounds. I'm determined not to lose focus though so I'll keep trying.
Hope that helps and, if I can do it, then you can too. Keep going!!!

All good advice @marrob thanks.Well I did a short walk today and realise I had lost a lot of stamina since I had stopped my daily walks. Still it has confirmed that I mustn’t stop now I’ve started again.Today I had ::-
B banana
L brown pitta cheese and salad with tangerine.D last of swede with bit of potato mash , mixed vegetables and 2 sausages left from yesterday . An apple
not sure this was a great day because the sausages weren’t low fat ones and cheese was just ordinary cheddar. I haven’t had any cheese yet this week though and I did weigh it. When I actually go shopping again I will buy low fat versions of both.Hope you all had a good day.5
