Morning all, I'm getting a bit neurotic watching the weather forecasts!  Winds due to batter us from early tomorrow until late Thursday then heavy snow all day Friday :(  It's difficult to get to a main road from from where I live with a light covering of snow so if we get what's forecast there's no chance so thinking I'll re-arrange plans and food shop just in case.

Glad you can post your food pics again @bubbs I missed them!  Your chicken looked soooo good

Today's breakfast was bran flakes (HEXB) and f/f yoghurt, lentil soup for lunch and trying another new recipe tonight, this time from Two Chubby Cubs book - orzo lemon chicken.

    Have a good day everyone!

    Morning all

    Yes Denise i did

It's really battering it down here and the wind 😱 so looks like another day in the warm, i have NEVER stayed in so much 😂 i'll be getting cabin fever soon!

We was going to go to Hull today but the roads are very open so the wind will blow across and once you get there unless in shops we are going to be very wet! DH said yesterday can't even go for a walk without getting soaked

    Morning all,

    Great losses annabanana - whoohoo!

I have only just had breakfast as had to take our car in for service and MOT. Yes think I will try the Saturday morning class Denise and see how I go - haven't told DH yet but he knows I'm being sensible food wise. But then again, he said shall we go out for dinner tomorrow night - can't win!

    Food today:
B - dark rye wholemeal toast, 2 tsp jam, grapes - B, 1? hope that jam is still 0.5/tsp?
L - chicken drumsticks, hard boiled eggs, lettuce, toms, pickles - P, S
D - steak, SW chips, roasted vine tomatoes, portobello mushroom with a little cheese - P, S, A
    Snacks - satsumas, blueberries

    A - milk
    A - cheese

We are at the cinema tonight - no snacks shall be purchased!

  • Morning all.  Good to see you back @Coxy11 and well done on the loss @annabanana82

Had a nice evening out; had scallops to start, wild mushroom ravioli for main and then a chocolate cherry mousse cake thing for desert with a glass of champagne and a cocktail in the bar.  Got back to the room to find that they'd done a special valentines turn down service with candles everywhere and rose petals on the bed which was nice but not very practical 🤣  Spent about 45 minutes trying to get the petals out and off of the sheets before we could actually get some sleep 😆  Breakfast this morning was great as usual - had poached eggs on sourdough along with fruit salad and a hash brown (can't resist the things, especially when this hotel make their own rather than frozen ones).  Back home and to work now.  Not planning on having lunch as had such a big breakfast and then something light for dinner but not quite sure what, maybe a prawn stir fry.

Hope you're all having a good day.

You really crack me up @bubbs!  Just imaging your DH trying to get his leg through the window!  Still at least you were able to get out!

Definitely not much food for you today!

Thought you might have taken your ice cream maker too @bubbs!  I'm sure you're missing it!

We'll be off shortly to go and pick up a couple of Magic Bags.  Wonder what we'll get today!  Our DD got loads of peppers and avocados yesterday so I've collected some of those from her.  Out of the whole bag of avocados there are only 2 ripe ones so will have those tomorrow with some prawns tomorrow.

Bubbs, that vision has just cracked me up 😂
Not posting food today as thanks to this stupid medication I’m still nowhere near being on plan: I haven’t gained though as the Movicol is finally kicking in. I went for my blood tests today and I’ve made it plain how miserable I am. Yesterday I was cooking tea and so moving around a lot and my sugars plummeted from 5.6 to 4.2 in 5 minutes just because I was moving around. I had to quickly scoff a banana. I’m scared to even go upstairs to the loo as my sugars plummet.

It’s mine and OH’s wedding anniversary today. I cooked the meal we had at our wedding reception- chicken wrapped in bacon with roast spuds and veg.

I did have one small victory though- I had a message from SW social media team who has told me my consultant is wrong! I don’t have to syn the jelly babies. I quote- ‘we would never advise that anything used by a diagnosed diabetic having an episode of low blood sugar, such as jelly babies, full sugar drinks or glucose tablets that has been advised by a medical professional needs to be synned’ I’ve had these jelly babies for six weeks and only used them once- I bought them after a very bad hypo where my sugars went down to two, although I have regular hypos I usually manage to get something carby into me which sorts it out. I’m going to firmly but politely tell her this tomorrow, as it may be others are in the same situation and she may be giving them wrong advice.

    Lots of love xxx

    Happy Anniversary x

The Magic Bags weren't too bad although I could have done without another bag of avocados and another pack of 5 peppers!  Got of out of date manky big mushrooms so I've dumped those - they were 3 days out of date and didn't look good.

Also got a small cauliflower, a head of broccoli, couple of slightly wrinkled aubergines so DH has asked for a moussaka for dinner tomorrow.  The curry I've made will need to be portioned up and frozen.  Bag of rocket, bag of rocket & watercress, bag of sliced greens.  Some vine tomatoes, one of which was squashed but the other half dozen are OK.

A box of cherry plums, a box of cherries (which DD1 nabbed!), a bunch of very ripe bananas (good job I like them like that!), pack of plums which we split with DD1, a mango which I'll put in the SOTW basket as I don't like them and neither does DH, a box of clementines.

There were I think 3 packs of 4 hot crossed buns, a pack of muffins and 4 long rolls which we gave to DD1.

Think that was it - that was from 2 Bags so a total of £6.18.

DH also got a bag from Costa for £3 which contained a box of 6 caramel slices, a ham and cheese toastie and a tub of Korean chilli ramen noodles.  Think he would have preferred a couple filled rolls rather than the noodles.  Don't think that bag was particularly good value.

Don't think my fridge has been so full for a very long time!
