Morning all.  Feeling a bit fragile this morning - rather more to drink than I'd intended!  Poor DH ended up driving so was drinking alcohol free beer!  He'd booked taxis both ways but 15 minutes after it was supposed to arrive he phoned up and got told it was running a bit late!  So he cancelled the taxi.  The driver called him about 10 minutes later and said "I can't find your house!" so DH apologised and said he'd cancelled.  The office hadn't told her.  Won't be using that cab company again (not that we go out in the evenings usually).

The meal wasn't particularly good so I didn't actually eat very much.  a few prawns, half a small salmon fillet, one roast potato and all the veg; an individual meringue with a bit of defrosted fruit on it (I lifted off the dollop of squirt cream which was on top).  The salmon was cold and extremely dry and overcooked.  I also ate 2 crackers, a small piece of brie and a small piece of blue.

I don't think I had as many syns as I thought I might!  Need to tot up the syns I've had so far to see if I have any left for today, tomorrow and Tuesday.

Enjoy your time in Yorkshire @bubbs.  It will be much easier for you with being able to cook properly and as @maman said not having to hide your kitchen gadgets!

    Today's plan:

    B - fry up with sausages - P; S; F; 2
    L - burger & onions in wholemeal roll - HEB; S; 0.5
    D - beef stew, mash, green veg = P; S; F

    HEA - milk
    HEB - roll
    Syns - sausages 2; burger 0.5

    Have a good day everyone.

Shame about the meal last night @joedenise but I hope you enjoyed the event in general and at least you didn't waste too many syns. DH often says that we eat far better at home than many of the restaurant meals we have. I think as prices go up we're getting even more discriminating. It's good to meet up with friends and family but I resent paying through the nose for mediocre food.

Absolutely dreadful day here weatherwise. Tipping down with rain and blowing a gale. I don't plan to set foot outside the door.

I'm going to try a rice pudding today, baked one while the oven is on. I got the idea from @Matron_Midge's post about the egg custard. My nana never cooked a joint without putting something else in as well.   I know DH loves puddings and if I make it with sweetener then I can have a taste myself. Today I have plenty of HEA going spare.

    Today's EE plan-
B- fried eggs (P), tomatoes, mushrooms (S), HEB toast, HEA1 milk for drinks
    L- JP (F), prawns (P) salad bits (S)
D- JO roast pork (P), SW roast potatoes (F) many vegetables (S)
    Syns- mayo 1, gravy 4, weekend wine😁

    Afternoon all

Denise, sorry the meal was not very good :(

We had picky tea last night 😋

I am cooking a roast today with fresh veg , excited for fresh veg 😂

We are not going anywhere today it's blowing a gale and chucking it down!

We are going to decide what we are doing in the week later , might go Beverley one day never been there, going Hull one day , no point in going seaside when it's like this, but least we both get a rest, nice and warm and not using our electric or gas 🤣

Had a soft pitta with bacon and 2 eggs in 😋 with tomato on the side

We seem to have got off lightly with the weather compared to both of you.  We've got the strong winds but as yet no rain although it is forecast for later but quite honestly doesn't really look as though we'll get any.

DH is chopping onions at the moment ready for our burgers - hopefully he's going to cook them as well save me the bother!

For some reason I can't get warm so I'm sitting here under a spare duvet.  The thermostat is saying the temperature is 20 but it certainly doesn't feel that warm!

So am I @bubbs!  DD2 was supposed to be coming for lunch today but she phoned on Friday to say her partner has just gone down with Covid so obviously not coming.   But the way I'm feeling it's probably just as well she's staying at home although it would have been lovely to see her of course.
