    Hi all,

We have a free food taster session at group next week and I need some inspiration on what to take with me please!

It has to be free food.

I don't know if all groups are doing this at the same time.  Apologies if this has already been mentioned further up, but I haven't looked at this thread for few days and not caught up.

    Have a good evening everyone.

@Abbafan1972 My consultant has chosen not to do tasters next week.  The group I used to go to are having tasters so looks like it's up to the individual consultants to decide whether they do it or not.  I think my consultant is still very wary of covid.  We're still having to socially distance, wear masks and wear shoes when we're weigh.  My old group the consultant decided against all that before I changed groups.

Thanks for the heads up about the Linda McCartney sausages @bubbs.  Will try and get to Asda next week - it's a bit out of my way but I might be able divert on the way home from group!

My group has stopped wearing shoes for WI! 😁 Masks are optional. Chairs are still well spaced.

Good to see you posting @Abbafan1972. For sharing you could do mini crustless quiche in muffin tins. You can line with thin ham if you want. Then veg of your choice like peppers, spring onions, mushrooms then pour in seasoned beaten egg. Or just buy some of the LM sausages from Asda, cut them in half or thirds and put on cocktail sticks. I think it's a good idea to let people taste things they might not have tried before. 🤔
  • Evening all!

Hope all goes well with your dad Bubbs, so many seem to be going through tough times with families at the moment, we can only do our best to keep strong for everyone.🙏🤞

Maintained tonight, not too fussed as I scoffed a packet of biscuits while cleaning a cupboard and they couldn’t possibly have gone in the bin😂 Got a text message while I was there to say I had been in contact with a positive test, couldn’t believe that literally days before we return to normal, I was forced to take a test, other than the one I had to take to travel to Ireland at Christmas, this is the only one I had to take. I know I have been really lucky, especially as I have tested negative, but I will have to monitor myself as I am supposed to be going home next week and I cannot put my mum at risk.

Hope your dad is OK @bubbs.   We have a taster next week too @Abbafan1972.  I don't particularly like them but will take along fruit skewers or similar to show willing.

I got a good bag from Morries last night - 4 bags of onions, potatoes, oranges, spring onions, two boxes of portobello mushrooms and tiger bread.   Most of the onions and mushrooms are chopped and in the freezer, the rest I'll use batch cooking this weekend.  They must have read I was making French onion soup

Last of the fruit and f/f yoghurt for breakfast, beans on toast (HEXB) for lunch and pork medallions, mini roasties, loads of veg for dinner.

    Have a good day all!

  • Just a quick one to say I used to take syn free lemon curd or baked egg custard to taster sessions.there was never any left. I mix yogurt with the lemon curd and have it like a split pot yogurt.
Having  fillet steak tonight, (whoopsie so very MSE) sw chips, salad and I’m doing onion rings (syns)
    have a good day everyone

@Matron_Midge - @Abbafan1972 was looking for syn free food and lemon curd isn't syn free unless you make it yourself with quark, eggs, lemons & sweetener - no idea if it's any good because I don't actually eat lemon curd so never bothered making it!

I always used to make baked falafels (mini ones - about 1Tbs of mix each).  There was never any left as my old consultant used to pinch them if there were any left as she loved them!

Morning all, more washing done today.  Thought I'd better get it out of the way as it's forecast to rain tomorrow and then almost all of next week!  Hoping it's going to be dry by next weekend as hoping to get away in the motorhome for the weekend!

    Today's plan:

    B - Welsh rarebit - HEA2; HEB; P; F
    L - LO beef massaman curry; jacket potato - P; S; F; 2
    D - chicken traybake - P; S; F

    HEA1 - milk
    HEA2 - cheese
    HEB - bread
Syns - curry pastes 2 (they synned at 4.5 so used 2.5 yesterday and also synced the coconut milk).  May have a couple of glasses of G&T tonight 6

    Have a good day everyone.
