Morning all, I'm not usually first to post in the morning - or last at night!
Need to pop out to the Mr Ts this morning as have run out of yoghurt and I only like their greek style natural fat free one. DH also needs to pop into the Drs to see whether he needs to have a 4th jab as he's received a letter from the NHS telling him to book one but when he went on the website he couldn't book one! What's that all about? It seems unlikely he needs one because he isn't immuno-surpressed, just has mild COPD; mine is actually worse than his and I haven't had a letter!
Today isn't as Low Syn as I would have liked but I've got the steak out of the freezer already to make the curry for tonight. So today's plan:
B - boiled eggs, asparagus to dip, tsp butter - P; S; 2(asparagus from the Too Good to Go magic bag)
L - stuffed peppers, salad, coleslaw - HEA2; S; F
D - massaman curry, rice - P; S; F; 4.5
HEA1 - milk
HEA2 - cheese
HEB - none planned
Syns - tsp butter 2; curry paste kit 4.5
Have a good day everyone.

Morning! Trying hard to snow this morning but now turned to sleet and freezing cold. Already have my fleecy blanket round me and have to whip it off quick to go on team calls
Didn't have enough time to make the onion soup yesterday @maman so I've added it to the list for batch cooking on Saturday. Managed to reserve a TGTG Morries bag tonight so will see what else I can rustle up.
Just coffee so far as not feeling hungry but can have the usual fruit and yoghurt if I do, veggie omelette and pickles for lunch and gammon steaks and veggie hash for dinner.
Have a good day all!0 -
Hope you get a good bag @Jellybaby and can make use of everything, either immediately or within the next day or so. Of course most things can be frozen.
The asparagus we had was lovely as a change from soldiers! Not something I'd normally buy at this time of the year though so made it a bit special - even if I did have to change my menu plan to use them up! Certainly don't mind changing things to use up almost free stuff!

Hope all goes well in the office @ruby_eskimo. Thinking of you.🤗
It's still dry and fairly mild here @Jellybaby but I think the cold air is on its way. ❄
I bought some prawns yesterday as so enjoyed the YS ones I had the other week. I'm still perfecting quantities for my low syn seafood sauce but it really is quite passable. I used LTL mayo, tomato puree, lemon juice and some Worcestershire sauce. I'd have added yogurt but I rarely buy any. What do you use yours for @joedenise. I don't remember seeing it on your menus? 🤔
I don't think I have any HM pilau left in the freezer so unless I make more today it'll be plain rice tonight.
Today's EE plan-
B- HEB muffin, HEA milk, fried eggs, bacon (P)
L- JP (F), prawns (P), beetroot and cornichons (S)
D- chicken curry (P,S), rice (F)
Syns- LTL mayo 10 -
Most of my yoghurt gets used in baked oats. I also have extra yoghurt on the plate alongside some fruit. I use more yoghurt than any of the recipes I've seen online and make them in a silicon muffin pan. Only used to make 2 but since I started using a bit more yoghurt in them I always get at least 3 and sometimes 4! They are really filling and I usually have 2 for breakfast and then I'll have the other 1 or 2 with a cup of tea or coffee mid morning.
Occasionally I'll make a raita to go with a curry. DH is quite happy just to eat it straight out of the tub on its own!
I buy a Kg tub pretty much every week and sometimes even have to go and buy another!
I've just looked at the recipe card which came with the Simply Cook massaman curry pack and it says to add a 400ml can of coconut milk! That seems an awful lot to me for 2 portions; I think I will only be adding half a can between us and the other half can be frozen (in those silicon muffin pans which hold 100ml each roughly). I buy the normal coconut milk and add add a can of water to make it the same as the Light coconut milk - so very MSE! Also means there will be 600ml to freeze for other recipes. Once frozen I just put them in a freezer bag.

Hi everyone. I had a gain of 1lb. I think it’s a temporary water gain as it was our anniversary and we went out for a meal last night. What we had was lovely but I can feel my fingers/joints are tight and my wedding ring is leaving a mark when I move it up my finger. It doesn’t normally so can only presume that is what it is. Hey-ho, can’t change it.
tonight we are having bacon, onion, courgette and tomato pasta. It smells lovely and it will be an early tea as we are visiting a friend just after 6. Their son has dreadful mental health issues and can’t be left alone at the moment - he is just out of hospital after being sectioned. They’ve asked if we are taking the dog down for him to have a cuddle with - he takes her into his room and talks to her (he won’t talk to anyone else) It’s a kind of therapy for him but we can only take her if he is being compliant and taking his meds. Bribery I suppose but I think right now they will try anything to keep him on the right track.
im another bulk yogurt buyer. I love the Tesco Greek one and buy 2 large tubs every time I go in. We have it everyday in one form or another. It makes a nice dressing for salad or wraps if you grate ginger and garlic into it.
Anyway, got to move some furniture and whizz round with the vac. I’ve got a new carpet being fitted in the morning and want to have an evening of sitting once we get back home tonight.0 -
That's the same one that I buy @Matron_Midge. It's the only natural yoghurt I've found that I can eat on its own! I've tried all the other SMs but not liked any of them. They were OK for cooking but not eating!
Enjoy your evening with friends.

Is that the microwave cooked lamb shanks from Iceland? I really like those and a reasonable price - work out cheaper than buying from the butchers and cooking them yourself!
Bet you're missing your ice cream!
