Good idea to have Babybel as SW friendly snacks available @ruby_eskimo.👍🏼

SW seems to be based on the premise that everyone needs a daily treat @joedenise . I suppose it does give balance on a daily basis but I'm like you and can eat quite happily syn free or very low syn throughout the week. I only use syns for a bit of cornflour or honey for sauces or if I have an occasional slightly processed meal like sausages or fishcakes.

I'm out for lunch tomorrow but today I'll be 100% on plan. We're having the fish and cauliflower cheese that I planned for Saturday.

    Today's EE plan-
B- HEB toasted muffin, (part) HEA1 milk, scrambled egg
L- ham (P), potato (F), fried veg and pickles (S)
D- baked haddock (P), potato cubes (F), cauli and broccoli cheese (S and HEAs)
    Syns- cornflour 1

Without the wine syns at the weekend I'm really struggling to get anywhere near 10 a day without alcohol!  I'm sure this isn't the right way for me even thought I am sticking to the plan completely.

Next week, no matter what, I won't be doing the 10 syns a day thing as I'm out to a Valentine's dinner and dance at DH's golf club on Saturday and I know that 10 syns just won't be enough!  I'll be going back to "normal"!

Afternoon all, day 7 and still positive 🤧. The cough is back again too 😤. Looking like I won’t be back at work until after half term now as we break up Friday!

Sorry to hear you're still positive @TakeItEazy.  Hopefully you'll be feeling better soon and you'll be able to enjoy your half term break.

    Afternoon all

busy week or so since I last posted, away for the weekend but I stayed mostly on plan, also did quite a bit of walking so hope that helps. Last week WI was -1, I will be happy with a -1.5 this week to get me to 2.5 stone, we shall see!!

Lots of great menu ideas, I’ve made a note to look for snowball melon at my next shop, I love melon anyway and that sounds delicious.

Hope you are all ok. GWS wishes to the poorlies x
  • Sorry I've not checked in for a week now, WI again tonight and I've noticed I'm feeling quite nervous every Monday, I wake up feeling light then by 7pm I feel 1/2 stone heavier.
I've done slimming clubs before but don't recall feeling like this before. Hoping that wears off!
It also dawned on me just how far I've got to go, I really need to lose around 6 stone.

But the positives I have been on plan for a full 4 weeks, no cheating or sneaking something and not accounting for it.
My clothes do feel looser, I'm sleeping better and have more energy - I run up the stairs because it feels natural and I'm not breathless at the top.
I went to a wake last week, I resisted a pint of lager and completely ignored the buffet.
My food tastes do appear to have changed, I no longer crave sweet high syn treats, I can watch some one eat chocolate and genuinely not want any, I know for many people this is normal but for me it's a big change.

Good luck to all those WI this week

Good luck for the WI @annabanana82. 🤞

It's a shame you have to go to an evening WI. Are there any other options? 🤔

What I do is try to follow the same pattern before every WI. I wear similar clothes and (in my case) have the same dinner (spag bol because I always measure the portion) and the same light breakfast (Weetabix). It might sound a bit repetitive but it's only for the one day. I think it helps to control as many variables as possible so you're comparing like with like every week. Just an idea. 🤔

Good luck @annabanana82 for WI this evening.  Like @maman and @bubbs I too wear the same clothes every week for WI.  I didn't used to eat before WI but now I've changed group and it doesn't start until 10.30am I have a light breakfast of mushroom omelette.  Tuesday evening meal is never the same though!  This week it's going to be a goat curry & rice! so definitely not particularly light.

Enjoy your naughty fish and chips @bubbs!  I've no doubt you've had nowhere near a full week's syns.
